Aircada ‑ Product Configurator

If you've played with one of those 3D configurators in the wild like Nike By You or the Porsche builder, maybe you’ve questioned, like we did, how a Shopify store can replicate that same high-end experience. Well we did some homework and the answer is it takes hiring an expensive design agency and waiting out a 4-6 month dev timeline. No.. not for us. So we then tried a baker's dozen worth of apps in the Shopify marketplace to see if we could just do it ourselves. Each one more limiting, heavy, and generic than the last. If I wanted a cookie cutter configurator, I will try the local homegoods store next time. What a waste of time. Months later, we see Aircada show up on our social feed and decide… just. one. more. try. And indeed it was. Aircada gave us a way to build the kind of 3D product configurator we had daydreamed about months back. They take a radically different approach than all the other apps we installed where you can use their SDK and MCP server to do just about anything you can think of. Pair it with claude code / codex / your ai of choice and you'll be moving fast. Against all odds, we are playing in the same league as the giants. Some might even argue we beat them on load times and UX, but that is a debate for later. We set up Aircada for our custom drinkware bottles recently and it's doing exactly what we need it to do without slowing down the site. We needed a way for customers to see their text and stickers on the 3D bottles in real time, handle multiple languages, and I think the biggest win for us on the backend is the print boundary that's making production much easier to deal with. It's also handling multiple products nicely and wiring them to the cart within the single configurator making ongoing additions and maintenance a lot easier. Visually, it ended up looking about as custom and high end as any shopify apps we've played with. Most look like templates you've seen before. Support has been awesome and we're getting eager to add more bottles to the configurator soon. If you need a customizer that handles dynamic pricing, multiple SKUs, and doesn't look like a cheap template, Aircada takes the cake.

We’re handling ~500 variants and several add-ons with this 3D customizer. Zero complaints. It’s connected to one of our native products and the variants synced up without much hassle to the configurator's custom 3D engraving, logo uploads, and about a dozen custom color option sets. Load time is in the green and I’ve yet see it drop below 60 fps on the phone. All that to say Aircada has done a solid job with both the 3D aspect but even more so integrating it into shopify to not feel like some frankenstein creation we experienced with a few of the other custom apps. And shoutout to the founder brother duo Sean and Wylie. Good dudes.

I am impressed with this product! It checks every box when it comes to creating real-time 3D product configurators. But beyond that, the team is amazing. We sell custom kites and have been in this business for decades. Our kites have been used by Sir Richard Branson when he, his family and friend achieved 3 Guinness World Records. Naturally, our brand has a very high standard for both physical quality and how we portray that online. With so many customers wanting to upload their artwork to our kites we decided it was time to streamline this on the site. Our traffic is primarily mobile so we needed an interactive 3D customiser experience that would be intuitive to use with just a pair of thumbs. We brought in Aircada to turn our vision into a production-ready 3D product configurator and these guys crushed it. The configurator’s UI/UX guides the customer from point a -> point b -> checkout yet feels unique in a way that emphasises our brand. Not an easy thing to do. The killer feature is we let the customer upload artwork to the top and bottom fabric of the kite. The realism is what got us. When you drop a custom image onto the kite, it wraps around the fabric creases and raised areas like you're holding the physical product. Some of the custom product builders we’ve tinkered with in the past didn’t seem to nail this aspect but Aircada’s visual engine has handled it the best we’ve seen hence this review. Huge shoutout to the team for building a 3D product customiser that feels as sturdy as our kites.

We’re one of the leaders in our niche. We were using a bare-bones 2D customizer to let users upload a logo onto our product. It was ok… quite underwhelming. Fast forward to now and we’ve swapped the 2D customizer for Aircada’s 3D product configurator and it’s night and day. The market is so crowded and to stand out we needed a unique configurator and PDP experience which is exactly what we have now. Our customers choose multiple sets of colors, upload custom images/svgs, some buttery 3D animations to switch to different views of the products. It handles our variants cleanly including dynamic pricing and some custom line item properties, seems faster to load than the other 3D apps we trialed, performant on older devices we’ve tested it on, solid on mobile, etc. And their team got hands on with us when we hit a few snags which helped quite a bit. We're seeing a lift in conversion and AOV already and will soon have more data on return rates hopefully being lowered as well. I’m a believer that 3D is the future of eCommerce and Aircada has made it possible for us to have a one of a kind customizer without paying a fortune for some custom coded solution that inevitably turns into a nightmare to manage (we’ve been down that road before). So cheers to that.

Solid App. If your store is looking to move into the custom product and AR space, this is the way. Support has been there when I needed them and it seems they genuinely go the extra mile to help. Really appreciated that. Product configurations can be a pain, but this did not feel like that for once. Would recommend this app any day.

Aircada’s product configurator is dialed!. We searched far and wide for a solution. Tried countless customizer apps, even hired a developer to build on top of one which did not pan out. Finally got in touch with the Aircada team right as they were launching and we're stoked that we did. Setup was smooth, all aspects of our product model were customizable, and the performance sealed the deal.
