weedit Backorder Notice helps merchants communicate expected ship dates for out-of-stock variants while continuing to sell them with Shopify’s “Continue selling when out of stock” setting. It displays a note on the product page under the buy buttons and adds the same information to the order line so customers see it at checkout and on the order, while leaving payment and checkout behavior unchanged. Setup is done in the theme editor, and the ship date can be pulled from a product or variant metafield or a product tag, with expired dates hidden automatically.
