Reviews summary

The reviews for the Emailwish Shopify App are mixed, with both positive and negative aspects highlighted by users. On the positive side, customers appreciate the great customer support provided by the app developers, with instant assistance when needed. The app's interface is also praised for its appearance and ease of use, making it a valuable addition to Shopify stores. However, on the negative side, users have reported issues with the app's functionality and communication. Some users have experienced delays in receiving responses from support, leading to frustration. Additionally, there are concerns about the prebuilt email templates not aligning with brand tone and style, as well as technical issues such as sending domain discrepancies and plan limit confusion. Despite these drawbacks, the app is commended for its time-saving automation features and overall usefulness.

The customer support is great. They helped me on an instant when I needed help. The app inside shopify also looks great.

Emailwish sounded like the perfect app, with prebuilt flows and prewritten emails. What it does not mention is where the problems start. I am writing this after contacting support two days ago asking for an urgent response, and I still have not received a reply. 1. They say “Get started without writing any emails. No need to even edit a template.” This sounds great, although the reality depends on your audience. It is strongly recommended that you review every email and edit them so the style and tone match your brand. Otherwise your customers may receive lines referring to “juicy deals”. While starting without writing emails is technically possible, it is not something we would recommend. 2. The test emails we received showed the sending URL as “maileremailwish.com”, not our store domain (for example @yourstore.com). If you have been emailing for years from your own domain, where customers have added you to their safe sender lists, that benefit is lost. We did not see any mention of this sending domain during installation or setup. If this is only limited to testing, this was not mentioned, and support have not advised otherwise. 3. Everything appeared to activate automatically as soon as we entered our store details in the setup screens. We had not even reviewed the emails at that point, yet everything was already set to send. We had quickly to manually change each automation to inactive. We also had Shopify Email flows running existing automations, and at no point did the app explain whether these needed to be switched off or if the app overrides them. 4. After installing Emailwish and adding the TXT records it instructs you to add, we received a notification from email provider saying: “Sender Policy Framework (SPF) for your domain has been disabled due to discrepancies in the SPF record configured in your DNS settings.” We assume this was caused by the app. There was no warning about this during setup. 5. We chose the free plan while we prepared the app for testing. Today it shows the plan limit has been reached, even though we only sent one test email. If this app delivered only what it claimed, with prebuilt flows and prewritten emails that integrate cleanly with Shopify Flows, it could have been very helpful. Instead there are several hidden issues, unclear instructions, and an overall poor experience. We still have not heard back from support. We will be uninstalling the app.

Thank you for taking the time to share this detailed feedback. We genuinely appreciate it, and it helps us continue improving the experience for every store. Regarding support communication We could not find any email or chat request from your store in our system. The only communication we received was an automated reply from your end, stating that your inbox is monitored Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm AEDT and that replies may take up to two business days during high-volume periods. It seems your message may not have reached us, so we never had the opportunity to respond. 1. Prebuilt flows and email tone You’re absolutely right that tone and wording matter. Based on your feedback, we have removed the specific wording you mentioned and updated our templates to use more brand-neutral, emotionally neutral language. This makes the default experience smoother for all store types, while still allowing full customization if needed. 2. Sending domain and “maileremailwish.com” Until a domain is verified, test emails are sent from our mailer domain, which is standard across all major email platforms. Once verification is completed during onboarding, all emails are sent from your own domain automatically. Domain authentication is essential for deliverability and inbox placement. 3. Automations activating automatically Automations can be turned on or off instantly. Even so, we are improving the onboarding flow to make it clearer when automations start and how they interact with any existing Shopify Email flows or any other flows for that matter. 4. SPF record issue SPF issues generally occur when a domain provider overwrites or blocks combined SPF records. EmailWish only provides the record, we do not change anything in your DNS. We’re more than happy to get on a quick call and help you merge the SPF properly with your provider so everything works reliably. 5. Free plan limits The free plan includes up to 100 subscribers. If your store has more than that, the plan limit will appear as reached even if only a test email was sent. We will also improve our notification timing so plan-limit emails arrive clearly and on time. We’d be very happy to assist with setup, authentication, or anything you need if you decide to give EmailWish another try. Our goal is always to make the experience smooth, transparent, and reliable for every store.

This app has been a great addition to my Shopify store. The interface is simple to use, and setting up automations is quick and straightforward. Incredibly useful app, It handles the customer contact flow on its own exactly as promised, saving a lot of time compared to doing everything manually on Shopify. It’s easy to use, and the customer support is outstanding! Fast, friendly, and truly helpful whenever I needed anything. Highly recommended.
