not working for more than a month, this app is not detecting from where the customer is coming from, popup is not working alsol

Hi there, we can't see anything wrong with the pop up on your site, it looks to be working as expected when we visit your site (image here: https://screenshot.click/29-40-ap94j-cckr9.png). When testing, if you are located in your store's default country/language, no recommendation will appear (since there is nothing to change), and this may be what you are experiencing? You can test with a free VPN or using the in-app preview.

The app used to automatically convert pricing to the correct currency based on geo-location (IP), but this has stopped working for some reason?? At least inform us if you change this functionality...

Hi there, the Geolocation app hasn't ever changed currency automatically, it recommends that buyers switch into their local pricing/language. We would also suggest not changing currency based on IP as this can be frowned upon by Google. We would instead recommend automatic redirection with international domains to automatically show your buyers the right currency: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/domains/managing-domains/international-domains#switch-between-international-domains

It's a good app, unfortunately the currency/country selector is hidden at the bottom on the footer, where no one is going to see it. So it ends up being next to useless. You would think that they would offer the option of having it on the header.

Hi there, there are 2 reasons we don't do this. Firstly, because Geolocation offers a pop up recommendation to buyers when they aren't in the right location or language. They should only need to use the selectors if they want to change to a country or language different than their default. Secondly, because Geolocation doesn't add any code to your theme, it's not technically possible for us to add selectors to the header reliably. If you want to do this, you can have a Shopify expert build a country selector directly into your theme's header instead (https://shopify.dev/tutorials/customize-theme-support-multiple-currencies). i used below code in my store {% form 'localization' %} {% for country in localization.available_countries %} {{ country.name }} ({{ country.iso_code }}) - {{ country.currency.symbol }} {% endfor %} {% endform %} on clicking the update button it appends /?shpxid=a65e5c42-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxx in the URL. defeating the whole purpose of using this

Hi there! That's correct - since each of your domains only have one default language, the app recommends to your customers that they switch their country, which also changes your domain and language as well. This is a superior experience to switching language only, in case you change any content/pricing for different countries as well. It also means that your customers only have to choose one selection, not country/currency and language as well. If you'd like further help setting up the app, please let us know!

Hi there, Geolocation leverages the multi currency option within Shopify Payments to recommend different currencies to buyers, and allow them to checkout in those currencies. Unfortunately without Shopify Payments, your buyers can only checkout in your store's base currency. We are expanding its availability as fast as we can!

Hi there, we can see that you do not have any additional currencies enabled in your Shopify Payments settings, so Geolocation cannot enable switching between anything, which is why the options are greyed out with instructions to enable currencies. Sorry but the app is full of bugs. No one function works as it should. No pop up appears, position can not be fixed top or bottom. better you review it completely

Hi there, thanks for getting in touch with us! The Geolocation app allows your buyers to switch between languages and currencies you have already configured in your store. We can see that you have no additional countries/currencies, or any additional languages enabled on your store, and this is why those options are greyed out.

IF i could give a -1 star i would. is it just me, or do apps by shopify NEVER EVER work. Every time i download an app by shopify, there always comes an issue, and then we have to end up switching to pay such huge amounts to get the service we want. The capitalist society in which we Live. The Ping app by Shopify is another USELESS app that just freezes my webpage for no reason. Or is this some kind of Big corporation conspiracy???

This app is malfunctioning. When I first downloaded it, I could see the view as how my customers would. Then after going to my site it only would show at the bottom, even though I selected for it to be at the top. Contacted Support and the rep. escalated it. She then said it was now working and that I should uninstall and re-install. I did that but the it does not even show at all. So weird and frustrating as this affects potential International Sales/

Hi there, for the app to offer different languages to select from, you will need to ensure you have published those languages in your Shopify admin settings first (Settings --> Languages). Please don't hesitate to reach out to the Shopify support team to get you started!

Installed the app which went ok, but all the options are greyed out and we cannot publish it to the website. The App does not seem to be functioning correctly on our site. Can someone please assist.

I tried this app and it wouldn't change currency to the other currency i have enabled in my payment settings, it shows the other currency in options but doesn't display the prices in PK rupees. It doesn't perform as advertised.

Hi there! Sorry the setup was not as you expected. Geolocation uses the currencies and languages you have setup in Shopify to offer recommendations to your buyers. This ensures a consistent experience from your storefront all the way through to checkout. You can offer currencies under Settings --> Payments, and then click "Manage" next to Shopify Payments. Languages are in Settings --> Languages. Once you have set these up, Geolocation will leverage them automatically.

I installed this app into my store then went to my website. I only saw 2-3 words translated. I am not sure how that is supposed to help. I quickly uninstalled this app.

To get started selling in multiple languages, take a look here (https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/cross-border/multilingual-online-store), and then use the Geolocation app to make recommendations once you have published additional languages!
