Google replied to us stating that we should replace our online store URL on merchant with the one we prefer. The issue with this is that it does not update any of the URL's for the products. So if anyone searched for our products they'll still be redirected to our online store URL. The change made does not propagate into the items. We have tried making a script to automatically change all URLS on google merchant to the URL we are using on the hydrogen storefront. This could work, but if we change ANYTHING on the shopify product page, for example, the description, the URL goes back to the primary online store one. Giving this a 1 star, hoping the team looks into this issue. Our shop uses the hydrogen storefront, which uses a different URL compared to the online store storefront. The google & youtube app seems to only use the online store storefront URL, with no options to change this. We want to redirect our users to the hydrogen storefront, not the online store one. We have tried getting into contact with Google & Youtube support, only to be told to contact Shopify. We contacted shopify and they told us they'd speak directly with the team that handles this app. This was 3 months ago. We are only looking forward to the feature that allows us to choose the preferred URL we would like to use to prefill google ads links, merchant etc..., but it seems like google is refusing to do this. An update like this wouldn't take longer than an hour to make.

Hi, the Google & YouTube app receives onlinestoreURL data from Shopify's product data as part of the automatic product sync. In this case, since you're using a headless domain, Shopify has saved product data under the primary domain of your myshopify.com hosted site URL, which is why Google is seeing a different domain URL than your claimed website. We are discussing this unique scenario with them, but since their change won't be done in an hour, we do have a method in Google Merchant Center for you to update the product URLs that Shopify exports to us. Please submit a case at https://support.google.com/merchants/contact/shopify_3p_support_app and let me know once you've done this, as I need to walk you through the process using your specific store information that I can't share in a public review space. We will also have a faster turnaround time using our Get Support link because reviews tend to take multiple days to reach us after you submit them.
