Loopz Gift Cards
Loopz has received a mix of positive and negative reviews from users. Positive aspects highlighted include great customer service, seamless onboarding, excellent integration between Square and Shopify, and responsive development team. Users appreciate the ability to sync gift cards between platforms, the easy setup, and the cost-effectiveness of the app. On the other hand, negative feedback revolves around issues such as the inability to add custom gift card amounts at the basic level, misleading information about compatibility with Square, and difficulties in removing the app. Some users also mentioned undisclosed subscription fees and challenges in using certain features.
Great service all round. The guys at Loopz were very helpful during early conversations and the onboarding was seamless. Would highly recommend
I ordered gift cards from Loopz because they advertised that their cards were cross-compatible with Square and Shopify. This is not true. When my cards arrived, they didn’t work with my Square device at all. Instead of functioning like normal gift cards, I was told I’d have to manually import every single card into Square, and then manually key in a case-sensitive 14-character code each time someone wants to redeem one. That is completely unrealistic for a small business with long customer lines. When I called to get clarification they told me that they usually ask where I'll be using them but must have forgotten and just assumed. On top of that, there’s a $10 USD monthly subscription fee PER channel you use this for. that was never clearly disclosed before purchasing. I honestly feel misled — if I had known any of this, I would have ordered directly from Square. Now I’m stuck trying to return the cards because the product doesn’t work as advertised. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration and order your cards directly through Square instead. I will probably be out the $200+ dollars I invested in these useless cards, and the new ones I ordered through square will not come before christmas and I'll lose those sales as well.
The merchant ordered physical cards that were compatible with the Shopify POS and not with the Square POS. We tried to work with them to make the cards they received become activatable on their Square POS. We've since improved our card order flow to make it clear for which POS system the cards are being ordered for to avoid this confusion. Our pricing model charges a subscription per connected merchant account and to enable syncing of gift cards between Shopify and Square a subscription is required for both merchant accounts. We refunded the card order to the merchant in full due to the misunderstanding of which POS system they intended to use the cards with.
We've used Loopz for a couple of years now and it is GREAT for for keeping our gift cards synced between Square and Shopify - whether a customer buys a physical or digital card, it can be used online or in-store. Customer service has been consistently excellent.
This app is terrible. There is no where to remove the app once you realize it won't let you add custom gift card amounts at the basic level.
Our app can always be uninstalled on the Shopify admin per the guidelines set by Shopify. Our gift card product page can be configured to have multiple gift amounts but custom amounts on the online product page is not supported.
Thank you.
We've helped the merchant complete the setup of their gift card product page setup.
