You would be utterly and completely insane to install this app with abusive practices and hidden fees. Let me clearly state my short lived experience with Luxury Distribution S.r.l. First of all I installed this application on September 29th 2025. Afterwards I subscribed to the 99$/month plan and populated my store with their products. From October 9th to November 9th I successfully paid the first month but due to the reasons I will describe further I choose to uninstall the app and cancel my subscription on Nov 26th 2025. So, 2 very important aspects for which I filed a dispute with Shopify against the app developer: 1. The app developer is refusing the recalculation and pro-rated refund for the amount due, since the second month of billing, the app has been "used" for 17 days and they are still charging me for the remaining days until a full month cycle, which is not only abusive in the European Union, it is illegal. 2. They charge hidden fees such which are not mentioned ANYWHERE on Shopify or on the app dev's website, such as a 22% VAT in the European Union as "reverse charge" REGARDLESS if you are VAT registered company in the EU or not. This means that if you are even considering dropshipping, the prices they practice for their products, together with the 22% VAT charge and the insanely inflated Shipping prices, you will 100% result in zero profit margin, or even worse, negative margin IF you want to express competitive prices similar to your competition. So I would personally render the purpose of this app useless and against the concept of profit and healthy collaboration. Also the funny thing is that they have a paywall so you can't see the pricing and the products before you pay. Do the math for yourselves. It's pure insanity which other people might call a scam.

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. I’m genuinely sorry that your experience with our app left you frustrated, and I’d like to clarify a few important points about billing, VAT, and “hidden fees”, referring to the public documentation you mentioned. 1. About the “pro-rated” refund and second month of billing App subscription billing is handled directly by Shopify, not by individual app developers. According to Shopify’s own Help Center on App charges on your Shopify bills, recurring app subscriptions are billed in 30-day cycles, and if you uninstall during an ongoing billing cycle, you can still be charged for that entire period because of how the billing cycle works. Uninstalling stops future renewals, but doesn’t automatically generate a pro-rated refund for the remainder of the current cycle. Shopify Help Center Shopify explicitly explains that prorating and app credits apply when you upgrade or downgrade between app plans within a cycle — not when simply cancelling or uninstalling an app mid-cycle. Shopify Help Center In your specific case (using the second month for 17 days and then uninstalling), the charge you’re seeing is a result of this Shopify billing behaviour, not a custom policy that we apply on top. Additionally, our Terms & Conditions (section Prices and Payments and Subscription fees) clearly state that subscription fees are final and not refundable for partial or unused periods once the service has been accessed, which is aligned with how Shopify’s subscription billing works for apps. Luxury Brands - Digital Warehouse 2. About VAT and “hidden” 22% charges On our Shopify App User Guide, in the section Important notes regarding cost of goods sold to the Merchant (Dropshipper), we clearly state that: All costs in the application are displayed excluding VAT. For stores selling to destinations within Europe, a 22% VAT is added to the cost of items on the final invoice. If a user has a valid EU VAT registration, that VAT is treated as a recoverable tax charge under normal EU VAT rules (i.e. it can generally be reclaimed according to your local tax legislation). Luxury Brands - Digital Warehouse Immediately below, in the “When is VAT charged?” section, we explain the underlying principle: For EU-based companies, VAT is chargeable on most sales and purchases of goods within the EU and is due in the EU country where the goods are finally consumed. VAT on services is charged at the time they are carried out in each EU country. This is a summary of the standard EU VAT framework, where VAT is a consumption tax applied at each stage in the supply chain, including the final sale to the consumer. Luxury Brands - Digital Warehouse In our Terms & Conditions, we also specify that: Product prices are generally listed exclusive of VAT, and Where VAT applies, it is clearly indicated as such. Luxury Brands - Digital Warehouse So the 22% VAT you mention is not a hidden fee and not an arbitrary surcharge: It is disclosed in the User Guide and Terms & Conditions. It reflects the standard Italian VAT rate for goods consumed in the EU and is part of complying with EU tax rules, not an “extra” profit margin for us. 3. Shipping costs, margins and profitability We absolutely understand your concern about profit margins. Dropshipping luxury goods across borders involves: Wholesale cost of goods Applicable VAT Shipping and logistics (which can be higher for insured, tracked shipments of premium products) In the same Important notes section of the User Guide, we explicitly state that: Prices shown are not inclusive of shipping, Shipping is calculated based on quantity and destination, and A dedicated shipping information page is linked so merchants can understand the typical ranges before selling. Luxury Brands - Digital Warehouse Our app also includes tools like category-based margin settings and optional shipping supplements so merchants can adjust their prices to protect their margins while staying competitive. Luxury Brands - Digital Warehouse That said, if your own pricing strategy targeted very tight margins or you tried to match competitors who aren’t operating with comparable sourcing and tax structures, it can definitely feel like the economics don’t work. But that is an outcome of business model and tax reality, not of hidden or surprise fees. 4. About seeing prices and products (“paywall”) Due to how our B2B relationships and supplier agreements work, we can’t publicly display full live wholesale pricing for all products without authentication. However, as explained in the User Guide: Once you create an account, you can log into our B2B live catalog and see your full catalog, prices, and dashboards. Luxury Brands - Digital Warehouse This means wholesale prices and structures are visible to merchants inside the ecosystem — they are not meant to be a “black box.” Final thoughts We fully respect your right to share your negative experience and your conclusion that our model doesn’t fit your business. At the same time, we feel it’s important to clarify that: VAT is disclosed, legally required, and explained in our own documentation and aligned with EU VAT rules. Subscription billing and lack of pro-rated refunds mid-cycle are governed by Shopify’s own billing rules for app subscriptions, not by a custom policy we invented. Finally we warn about including defammatory words like scam in your review as per european laws, this could be proceeded legally against you in court. Thanks for your understanding.
