They charge you (funds on hold) day 1 of trial. If you remove the app it still leaves traces on your website homepage that are hard to remove.

Hi, we are sorry about your unsatisfied experience. We have no right to charge in advance as every charge is handled by Shopify, the trial days will be reduced to 1 day if you re-install or approve the app the second time. There's a function called 'Remove code' in-app which will help you to remove all the integrated code from your theme. Sorry again for all the misleading and inconvenience, we will add this to FAQ to inform future customers. Please feel free to email us and let us know if anything we could help with.
