Mechanic

We’ve replaced several apps with just this one! I've used Mechanic for about a year now. Their huge library of pre-built tasks made it easy to get started auto-tagging customers or orders, scheduling product publishing, sending notifications for big orders. Setup was easy. When I needed something custom (a complex order hold and release workflow), I was easily able to learn enough Liquid to modify an existing task to achieve what I wanted. The documentation is good, and their Slack community is also super helpful. If you've ever thought "I wish Shopify could just do X automatically," this is probably your answer.

Mechanic was the answer to a process issue that has taken us months to solve. We were looking to send customer emails when we add a tag to their order or customer record. The key was the email needed to include order specific fields and customer metafields. We had tried multiple apps over several months and nothing could accomplish this. Then we came across Mechanic. Once it was downloaded and setup for email we were able implement our solution in less then an hour. So easy. This app is wonderful. It has a tremendous library of tasks that can be implemented. We are also using it to schedule sale price changes and reverting back to original price. Highly recommend this app.

Incredible app ! So useful !

Mechanic is our most important app for running our store - it handles all of our workflows on the backend, and helps us automate everything from sales, special events, sending orders to vendors, keeping track of preorder, backorders, inventory, and more. It's incredibly powerful and easy to learn for a developer. The documentation is also great, and there is a community on Slack that is ready to help if you run into anything complicated. The developer is also super responsive when you have questions. Overall, we couldn't be happier with Mechanic! This is the best app on Shopify hands down.

I love this app. I got it specifically to sync my blank t-shirt stock across my inventory so that I could offer a bigger range of products without fear of overselling. It has worked brilliantly for that. But also I have found many other uses, my favourite being getting it to check my entire inventory for a specific SKU and based on that add a new SKU in a new size, meaning I could add a new size of shirt to a couple of hundred items with just a few clicks. As well as monthly randomisation of the product order in some of my collections. Not the cheapest app, but the scope when you start to think about what it can do is really quite incredible.

Matt and his team are exceptional. My developers are in love with this app, and have installed it on all of our stores. If you constantly find yourself thinking 'I wish Shopify would do this..' or find any limitation in Shopify, this app solves it. No gimmicks, no 'it's in our roadmap' it just WORKS. 10/10

I love this app! Everything that is not possible with Shopify Flow is possible with this app. I've had a few questions / difficulties with tasks and Matt has always answered me very quickly and in detail. Mechanic really takes a lot of automation off our hands that would otherwise have to be done manually. Can only recommend the app!

This is hands down the most incredible app in the app store. Over the years I've used it to automate fulfillment of customized products, support our customer service team with problematic order flagging, build sophisticated data workflows (now that metafields/objects exist), and generally solve so many problems when someone says to me "we need a new app that does X" or "can you source a software that does Y". If you're creative, if you're a systems-minded person...you can almost always leverage Mechanic to solve your complex automation problem on shopify

Incredible tool for those with the skillset to utilize it.

Mechanic is such a thoughtful app. It finally solved a small but super annoying issue we’d had for years—our shipping insurance (a digital item) wasn’t auto-fulfilling properly. I’d even reached out to the insurance provider, UPS Capital, but they were completely useless at helping us fix it. It didn’t mess with our day-to-day operations, but it always bugged me. I’d tried every workaround I could think of and nothing worked... until Mechanic. It fixed the issue immediately. Also, the team behind the app is incredible. Real humans who are kind, responsive, and clearly want to help your business succeed. That kind of support is rare. I'm looking forward to finding many more ways Mechanic will help us optimize our backend operations. Highly recommend.

Mechanic allowed us to create a custom action for our app so we could offer the same promotion we were running on our site. It worked exactly as needed — no issues with functionality at all. Their support team was incredibly helpful. Highly recommend if you're looking to extend Shopify’s capabilities without heavy dev work.

Since we began using Mechanic over 4 years ago, it's become essential to our day to day operations. Here are just a few of the things we've been able to do with Mechanic, all of it requiring no staff supervision: • Importing order data into our UPS shipping system • Managing inventory and product synchronization between Shopify and our legacy systems • Automating order printing and notifications • Synchronizing data with Typesense for custom search functionality • Creating custom checkout processes for our B2B customers The sky is the limit in what you can do with this app, and developers in Mechanic's Slack space are continually coming up with and sharing novel solutions to customers' problems. If you're in need of any kind of automation or custom backend functionality for your store, we highly recommend giving Mechanic a go!

Mechanic is incredible. It lets you accomplish many things that would normally require custom apps or scripts. Saves us a ton of development time and the burden of hosting/maintaining custom solutions. Awesome team behind it too. Just wish we'd discovered Mechanic sooner!

Excellent. You can do incredible things with this app. The support rules, they are so kind and really care about solving your Shopify puzzles and breaking you free of Shopify’s basic limitations! They helped me set up some custom code, super responsive and fast to help me get it sorted. And when I stopped running my Shopify store full time after 10 years, they helped me lower my subscription cost so that I could keep my Mechanic tasks running long term. It’s a bargain for a versatile app and I’m glad to have supported it full price for a long time.

Mechanic's automated jobs has saved us a ton of $$$ and time. We love the customer service and the product's job uptime is 99%... which is awesome.
