Bar none, the best app for Shopify! Mechanic has been the single most important app that has allowed us to diversity our product and service offering, monitor order progress, communicate with customers and shift our business to a more online and COVID conscious platform all while saving us money! Mechanic has allowed us to clean up our apps by consolidating entire suites and eliminating multiple single focused apps. Mechanic has greatly improved our communication with customers and facilitated delivery of digital services to customers. Mechanic gives us the ability to tag and therefore track orders, customer behavior and products automatically. Mechanic also helps enormously with internal communication with automatic emails that have fully customizable templates using liquid variables. These are only a few of the amazing features of Mechanic, but are enough to make it more than worth it. Mechanic is so powerful and helpful, and I believe we have only begun to scratch the surface. It is very easy to use and very intuitive but also allows for much, much deeper customization with a little bit of coding knowledge. I recommend Mechanic for any store and highly recommend that it be the first app that is installed. I only wish we had discovered it sooner. Mechanic is the kind of app that takes advantage of the Shopify platform fully. A store can and should build itself around Mechanic. Lightward has been great supporting us and our store and a team that you can feel really good about supporting!

This app can take the place of dozens of other apps as well as solutions that would normally require a custom built app. Can save you literally thousands of dollars. I'm using it to auto-tag customers for various reasons, like on a purchase or on account creation, auto-fulfill digital orders, and writing metafield data to do things like run an online class with our blog and allow students to mark lessons complete, but it can do so much more.

What. A. Find. Highly recommended app for any store big or small to automate a bunch of tasks. We use at least 10 of the pre-built tasks for our daily operations. Isaac is an absolute gem and has been able to customise a bunch of tasks for our requirements.

This app is amazing! I was able to create 3 automations exactly as I wanted: 1. Send reminder emails to pending payment orders 2. Cancel orders after 4 days of not being paid 3. Send payment received to our manual payment methods after the payment has been received. The support team on slack is fantastic. They helped me solve an issue when creating my automation. Really worth the money.

It's been great to do some minor things without need for a backend. Since we actually have 4 separate Shopify stores, it will probably be inevitable that I eventually connect all our separate instances to a unified backend to ease maintenance overheads, but using Mechanic has saved me some time and priorities to get up and running quickly and to figure out the additional business logic we need. Help and support was also exceptional. Super friendly and approachable, they have a Slack channel where I've learnt more about how to use the plugin and see others' inquiries and solutions.

An absolutely stunning app. Already consolidated 4 apps down into just this one and with extra functionality on top! Great cost saver. I was originally looking for a way to email a customer automatically when an order is automatically tagged as SpecialOrder. This app did that and more including emailing customers who placed orders on eBay to tell them about our main website, pushing out of stock products to bottom of collections, automatically tagging instock/out of stock/sale and not sale items, emailing us when a customer places 2 or more separate orders so we can combine and save shipping, adding eBay usernames to tag so can be searched in orders tab, automatically emailing customer for pre-orders and more! I highly recommend scrolling through all 250+ tasks already in this app on the main website, I was literally smiling as I found more and more useful tasks and realising I can remove some paid apps (That cost even more than this one!). This app is perfect for even those with limited coding/liquid experience, every task has a simple config area and you can always click to show the full code that is being done if you need to tweak small bits to suit your business. The support is great as well, quick replies and additions or updates to current tasks means checking back you may find a new or updated task that suits your use or improve one your already using. Seriously cannot recommend this App enough, cant believe I didn't find it sooner.

There are a couple of apps I, as a developer, recommend for every Shopify store. OrderlyEmails is one of them. And now, Mechanic is another one of them. Mechanic exists to automate your chores and improve workflows. Do you need a nightly report of products that went out of stock? Or maybe you want an immediate notification when a staff (or you!) created a free product on your website? Maybe you want to know if products are missing images. Or for us, how we wanted to know the tally of orders marked with a specific date and 'Pickup Order' so we could judge how many orders are for pickup everyday. Or another favourite -- how much of each product do I need to fulfill all my pending orders? The possibilities are limitless with Mechanic, and the best part is -- all of the above which would've been separate apps, come under one beautiful app which does exactly what you want to do without fiddling with anything. This app is wonderful on its own with its several hundred built-in tasks. The app is on steroids if you have a developer who will write custom tasks for you. I cannot wait to see where this app goes. - Dev helping a friend who is thankful for having discovered this app

This is exactly what people like me (a non-coder) need - a way to control costs by doing as much work by themselves. The functionality of this app is almost unbelievable. Being able to create tasks that run automatically or can be triggered manually will be an incredible time saver AND improve overall data integrity within the system-- our reports and communications will be far more consistent and targeted. General maintenance of the site will be cut by 75%. The customer service is amazing - they are responsive not only about the question at hand, but truly want to understand your needs so they can offer ideas to help you. They even direct you to various support networks they've set up. I've learned so much just by creating a few tasks. The variable cost option is a testament to this app's desire to serve the Shopify small businesses and non-profit communities. "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime" comes to mind...thank you for a great app!

This is an extremely well designed app that gives you tremendous functionality. Some of the extensions they have added to Liquid to help you write tasks are so valuable - hash, array, cache, parse_jason - I wish they would be added to core Shopify Liquid! The documentation is extensive and Isaac is extremely responsive. Tasks that I expected I would have to automate outside Shopify using serverless AWS are now all implemented inside Mechanic - making my life much easier.

Hands down the #1 most useful app I have ever installed. If you're a developer I guarantee you're especially going to love this app because you can literally write your own automated tasks to do whatever you want to do - in liquid-style code - how cool! No need to install 30 different apps to perform a bunch of automated tasks - you can write your own tasks or use many of the ones the Mechanic team provides! Worth every penny. There is no other app of its kind on the app store that I've seen. There's a lot of functionality in this app - I highly recommend spending time playing around with the tasks included with Mechanic and using them as templates to create your own tasks. Documentation is great and the support we've gotten from Isaac's is absolutely amazing. 1000x thank you for creating this app!

Mechanic has allowed us to add complex functionality to our site that would've only been possible by creating a custom app. A core part of our business requires data from external APIs and Mechanic allowed us to develop custom tasks to connect to these sources seamlessly. We were able to easily convert our business logic into the necessary custom tasks and streamline our workflow. We could focus on developing the tasks without the need to worry about all the underlying infrastructure which was great. Another added benefit has been the team at Mechanic, it is like having another developer on your team as they are very responsive to any questions you might have and are amazingly quick to add functionality to Mechanic. Additionally, through the use of this app we have been able to uninstall 2 other apps and replace their functionality with Mechanic saving us time and money. An indispensable app for us!

Hands down the best app I've used on Shopify. It has drastically increased our team efficiency and has allowed us to automate time-consuming manual tasks. The customer support is also A+. The programmers worked with me to create new tasks and fix any issues that occurred. Normally, this type of support and functionality would cost an arm and a leg. But, the price is reasonable to boot. I would recommend that every store use this app. I'm so happy I found it.

I would posit that this is very likely to be the BEST VALUE app on app store. And yes, I know it's not a free one. It's actually much better than the description here because it already has about 190 tasks ready to roll (including several I requested myself). I installed this a couple of weeks ago for two jobs; to tag customers based on the product type they ordered and to create and maintain a Recent Products Collection. It has done this easily and with idiot proof configuration options. Mechanic does SO much more. So many of the pre-written tasks seem to be really useful and replace a bunch of other apps that are out there in the app store. . Give me a while and I will set up some more tasks and provide another review but in the meantime this is my favourite app so far discovered. **Update 4 months later ** I cheekily requested several more tasks a couple of days ago and the wonderful support was highly responsive as before. They are clearly more than competent but also seem to genuinely care. They have superb communication skills and has cheerfully helped me out very quickly again, and then provided follow on support when I couldn't resolve a simple issue myself. Gawd they are good! One of the few firm who actually go the extra mile and deliver top quality service. I see there are now 235 tasks prebuilt and I'm slightly embarrassed at what a low price I am paying for all this functionality and support - and at what good value this is, especially when compared to so many other apps here. I've just counted up the tasks I am running and it's around 20. Rather more than the original two I had bought the app for! If I was a developer instead of a merchant, I expect I'd be getting even more from it. I recognise this is a rather gushing review: it's not normally my style - but credit where credit's due! Thank you so much to Isaac and team. You deserve great success. Kudos to you! :)

I'm really happy with this app so far. I am using it to do a bunch of different tasks. E.g. email customers about outstanding order payments. Send them email when an order is taking too long and so forth. It's not saving me any money yet on my other apps as it doesn't quite do what they do. But hopefully it will in the future.

Mechanic helped us automate capturing payments. For internal fulfillment reasons, we needed to turn off auto-capture of payments until the end of each day. Rather than having to go in and manually do it at the end of each day, Mechanic allows us to capture expedited shipments immediately and everything else just before midnight each day. It solved our problem. I'm looking forward to using it for other tasks too. Isaac was super helpful. He created multiple scripts for our specific needs in about a day.

Great app and great support from the team. Helped us do all those little things that cannot be done easily in Shopify. When a task was not on the list the team created one for us in 24 hours. This is a must-have application for all Shopify owners. Cannot recommend enough.
