Currently, the tracking performance of this program is quite good. The support staff is also very proactive in collaborating to solve problems, which makes it worth recommending.

The Nabu FB Pixel app violates Shopify’s privacy and data access policies because it automatically publishes every Facebook Page linked to any connected personal Facebook account without allowing users to choose which pages to display. This overreaches beyond what’s necessary for the app’s function, breaching Shopify’s requirements for data minimization, merchant control, and transparency. By exposing all connected pages, including personal or unrelated business ones, it intentionally publishes private data, violates Facebook’s own platform terms, and breaches privacy laws such as GDPR and CCPA, which require explicit consent, clear disclosure, and user control over shared information. Because you can't control this information and Nabu won't change it, this app should be removed from the Shopify store.

Why We Need Page Permissions - Team Collaboration: Most Shopify stores have multiple staff members managing campaigns. Our app allows one person (typically the owner) to connect their Facebook account, and then all other Shopify store staff can use that connection to create pixels—even if they don't have Facebook Business Manager access. This is critical because most store owners have colleagues who don't have Facebook access. Without this, every team member would need their own Facebook Business Manager permissions. What We Actually Do The page permissions let us display a read-only list of your Facebook Pages in Settings — showing basic info like page name, category, and follower count. We do not: Publish or post anything to your pages Share page data with third parties Modify page settings Access private information This list simply helps you verify what's connected for proper tracking. Addressing Your Specific Concerns "Automatically publishes every Facebook Page": We don't publish anything. We display a read-only informational list within your Shopify admin only. "Without allowing users to choose": When you sign in, Facebook controls what you can access based on your account permissions. We show what Facebook's API provides—we cannot and do not filter it. Privacy Compliance: We use Facebook's official OAuth (you authorize through Facebook's own consent screen) We've passed Shopify's App Store privacy review We only access what you've authorized through Facebook You can disconnect anytime Alternative Option If you prefer, use "Manually Add Pixel" (no Facebook connection required): Just enter your Pixel ID from Facebook Event Manager Track events without any OAuth permissions The permissions enable essential team collaboration for multi-user stores. We only display information you already have access to through Facebook. Happy to discuss further if you have additional questions. Best regards, Salil Cofounder, AdNabu
