DO NOT USE. Avalara's integration with Shopify simply does not handle customer returns (which means you will not get credit back for the sales tax collected). Avalara says this is known limitation of the integration with Shopify and acknowledges that they cannot calculate sales tax accurately if you have a customer return something to your store for a refund (which is virtually every merchant that uses Shopify).

This app is for filing automated sales tax returns and is a separate product from our AvaTax integration for Shopify Plus which handles Sales Tax Calculation. The functionality you are referring to is for calculating sales tax on product returns with AvaTax for Shopify Plus and is not related to this app that handles tax returns. Our Shopify Plus integration does handle product returns, just not partial returns which are noted here as a known limitation. We are committed to making sure you have what you need.
