The app allows merchants to easily set a purchase limit of 'one item per customer per purchase' with just one click. It automatically checks the purchase history of logged-in customers and displays a message to those who have already made a purchase, preventing them from adding the item to the cart again. For non-logged-in customers, the purchase and add to cart buttons are hidden, and a message is displayed to prompt them to log in before making a purchase. The app also restricts quantity changes in the cart and performs a final check at checkout on the server side.
