Tracking Witness

Tracking Witness is a Shopify app designed to verify whether a store’s cookie banner truly blocks tracking until a shopper gives consent. It simulates an EU visitor from Frankfurt and runs three checks—before any banner response, after Reject, and after Accept—so merchants can see which trackers fire at each stage, along with request details, timing, Consent Mode values, and the source of the tracking from a theme file, app, or pixel. The app is positioned as a non-invasive auditing tool that works alongside any existing banner and does not modify the store.
