True COGS: Cost of Goods Sold

I installed this expecting another cost field. What I got is a ledger — every price I pay written once and kept permanently. So March's margin still reads as March's margin when I look in September. The freight and duty allocation alone was worth the price. HS code in, real rate out, landed in that receipt's unit cost. Replaced a spreadsheet I'd kept badly for two years. What won me over: I refunded an order without restocking, and it showed me a worse margin, with a line explaining the stock was paid for, refunded and gone. Most tools would quietly delete the sale and flatter me. It's honest about limits too — it won't invent an exchange rate for a foreign invoice, and says so. Not for you if you sell consignment or one-of-a-kind stock; it assumes you own what you sell. I've stopped keeping a parallel spreadsheet
