The app worked, however, the language in the documentation is misleading, as well as my communications with the developer. They recommended breaking up the inventory into "sections". It is in the app notes and instructions, and when I emailed with the developer, they said sections. Sections is interpreted as zones of a shop, not categories. So any redundancies in product across sections would override the inventory count, not cumulatively add up. As a result, we counted and actioned a large part of our inventory before realizing that it our inventory should be separated by category. we have merchandise all over the shop and to move all the notebooks toghether and all the pens, and specific gift skus is a nightmare. After reaching back out to the developer again to get clarity and best practices, they said "Just do it in one giant stock take" which goes completely against the recommendations. So while yes, the app worked, we lost a full day of inventory as a result trying to reconcile all of the products. Sometimes I feel like the people who make these apps don't actually run small businesses.

Hi Team, Thank you for your review. Our apologies for the confusion caused with recommending stock taking by sections, In general we recommend stock taking separate categories of stock when a store has a wide range of products. Our stock takes however always set the product quantities to what was counted and never accumulate between separate stock takes as currently stock takes are always seen as a full count of a specific product. This is certainly a feature we're happy to look at adding as well as updating the documentation to be more specific in this case.

This developer is very responsive. We used this for our cycle count this year and it was so much faster and more efficient. Well worth the price.

I was part of the early testing phase for Twist: Stock Take, as we were already using their Scan Picker app. The Stock Take app has greatly improved how we manage inventory across our complex warehouse, retail, and pre-order setup. It’s fast and responsive (even on a tablet), delivers accurate counts, and is clearly built for real-world use. Features like barcode scanning with live validation, metafield integration for bin locations, and clear committed stock visibility make it stand out from other apps we’ve tried. The developer is responsive and genuinely welcomes feedback, which shows in how well the app performs straight out of the box. Highly recommend this app for serious stocktaking.
