Accessibility Spark ADA & WCAG

Shipping into the EU meant the june deadline was hanging over us all year, that stress is gone. Being able to move the icon and shrink it mattered more than I expected on our mobile theme. Two things for Spark, a preview mode before changes go live, and remember what a visitor picked last time.

Theme changes go out most weeks here and Spark flags whatever broke by the next morning. Reports come as a PDF, I can forward it to our Agency without editing anything first.

We sell light weight hiking gear to about forty schools and one of the buying offices asked for proof of complience before renewing. This app produced the certificate and that was the end of it. Our photographer left in 2021 and nobody had touched the alt text since, thats all handled now. It doesnt throw a big popup at people either which I was worried about. One ask, a slightly bigger button on small screns.

A regular customer of ours uses a screen reader and told me she got through checkout on her own for the first time since we opened. Spark earns its keep on that alone.

My daughter in law handles most of our web things but she has a baby now so it fell to me. What helped was the statement page, a customer asked what we were doing about access and I just sent her the link. Spark also explained the rules without twenty pages of legal talk. Shorter emails would suit me.
