AdTrace charged my Shopify store without my explicit consent and even before any AdTrace account was connected. I first noticed the charge on my Shopify invoice and only then checked which app caused it. At that time, I could only link an account after the charge had already occurred, meaning billing started without me ever setting up, activating, or approving the app. This is extremely suspicious and illegal under EU consumer protection law. The customer service is unfriendly and consistently shifts blame: first to the consumer, then to Shopify. They ignore the fact that no account was ever connected, request irrelevant information, and fail to address the real issue: unauthorized charges. Another serious issue: AdTrace explicitly promised that a full refund (100%) would be issued if I removed my negative review. Once I complied, they immediately broke their promise: suddenly they claimed they could only refund 50%. Then they raised “payment issues” and claimed the problem was “Shopify’s fault.” Shopify has since confirmed that they are investigating because the problem originates on AdTrace’s side. The same pattern appears in multiple reviews from other merchants. AdTrace’s practices clearly violate EU law. According to the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU: • Article 6: Traders must provide clear, transparent information beforehand — AdTrace failed to do so. • Article 8: Requires explicit and conscious authorization before any payment — never occurred. • Article 9: Consumers have the right to cancel unused digital services — ignored by AdTrace. According to the EU Directive on Unfair Commercial Practices 2005/29/EC: • Article 6: Misleading actions are prohibited — AdTrace misrepresented installation and billing. • Article 7: Misleading omissions are prohibited — essential information was withheld. • Article 9: Traders must act diligently and professionally — AdTrace fails entirely. Conclusion: AdTrace is an untrustworthy and misleading organization. They charge without consent, make false promises, fail to honor agreements, and consistently shift blame. I accept the first 50% refund under reservation, but I do not waive my right to the remaining 50%, which they had already promised before breaking their word. This review will remain public until AdTrace refunds the remaining 50%. Once that occurs, I will revise or remove this review.

Hi there, Thank you for reaching out. We’ve already processed the $20 partial refund as a courtesy. After reviewing your account, the remaining invoices are valid as they were triggered by reinstalling a paid app and by orders placed outside your billing cycle. As per Shopify’s billing guidelines, merchants are responsible for reviewing the app’s pricing and policy before installation. Since a negative review was submitted while we were still assisting and assessing your request, we will not be making any further adjustments. Proceeding beyond this point without valid grounds would fall under a Shopify policy violation. Thank you for your feedback. If you need clarification regarding the billing policy, I’m here to help.

he CAPI and Facebook Pixel Meta API have been game-changers for our marketing stack. Since implementing them, we’ve seen dramatically improved tracking accuracy, even with browser restrictions and ad blockers. The server-side events are incredibly reliable, and the integration options make it easy to tailor everything to our specific setup. What I love most is the added visibility into the customer journey—attribution is clearer, optimization is smarter, and our ROAS has noticeably improved. Meta has done a fantastic job providing thorough documentation and robust tools that work seamlessly together. If you’re serious about scaling your campaigns and want dependable, privacy-centric tracking, the CAPI + Pixel combo is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended!
