We found Bulk Image Edit by Hextom to be a great tool for two things: 1) Converting all images into consistent square shapes for a great and consistent look and 2) Adding Alt-Text. We had over 17,000 sku's to deal with and this app saved us a tremendous amount of time and money. You do have to pay for the higher level of images processed but the monthly cost is very reasonable and you can drop down to the lower price or free versions (limited images per month) anytime you want.
