Hopefully, a useful app, but installation was a letdown / cumbersome process on 4 fronts 1) Sometimes, the explanations weren't clear, e.g., the benefits (or not) or adding text on buttons. If the field says "Please Refresh" - why isn't this pre-inserted, anyway? "'Cancel Column Cannot Cancel Text' - The text shown for the cancel column, if the order cannot be cancelled" <--- what to put here? Leave blank (to a default) 2) Where fields or items are located on the page, there is only a screen shot of what you need to click, as opposed to where it sits on the page - e.g. 'add block' appears in the 'Sections' section of the page, as opposed to the default 'Theme Settings' where the page lands 3) In part, our fault for missing this first time round, but although support FAQ mentions it hidden away, "Q. Do I need to have customer account enabled to use Cancellable app? You do not need to have customer accounts enabled to use Cancellable. If you don't have customer accounts enabled, you can skip the customer account page installation step." -- it's not until midway through the installation, it asks to you to login to an account where orders have already been placed. We have not yet launched, so we did not have an account we can login to where orders already exist. Having then created an account, WITH password, just for this purpose, and placed an order, complete with credit card info. This could at least be a more obvious warning BEFORE purchasing ("Please note, you need to have active customer accounts to complete full installation of this App). 4) It seems you cannot select an alternative email address to which to have Cancel notifications sent - it defaults to the store-registered one. Unless we've missed this - please advise... The Customer Account requirement was an annoyance. Took me 30+min instead of what I thought would be 5 minutes at tops. Otherwise it seems really straightforward, and hopefully not needed... UPDATE: Post initial 3-star review - they immediately reached out to acknowledge where they could do better, and offered to change my registered e-mail address Appreciative of the good customer service. The App does what it says.
Hi Sheep Impact, Sorry for the inconvenience your store has faced during the installation, we definitely can do better on the onboarding process, we will try to improve the installation instruction of the app soon. 4) For the alternative email address for receiving cancel notification, this can be done, can you email me ([email protected]) the alternative email address you want to use ? Thank you. 1) For the "Please Refresh" button (for the thank you page / order status page customization), due to Shopify's technical limitation, app weren't allowed to pre-insert a default value in their checkout editor interface, sorry about this. The app will use a default text ("please refresh") if the field is left blank. For the "Cancel Column Cannot Cancel Text", this text is shown in the "Cancel" column on the orders list table, when the order (that particular row in the table) is not able to cancel, where the "Cancel" link will be hidden and this text is shown instead. 2) Sorry about this, we will add more detailed instruction / screenshot showing where it sits on the page. (eg: "In the sections" area) 3) I assume you are trying to preview the customer account page (with the cancel / reorder link) here correct? You are right that to preview the customer account page orders list table, a customer account is required to login and view that page, as Shopify does not provide a mechanism to simulate a customer account or preview the customer account page without logging in, sorry about this. As the store is not yet launched, it is possible to go to your store settings > Payments , and add a bogus test payment gateway. You can then use card number "1" to simulate a successful transaction to create an order without using a real credit card. Sorry on the FAQ, we should word it better, the "customer account enabled" in the current FAQ means that if your store does not have "Customer account system enabled" (which visitor is not able to register / login to an account), then the customer account installation step can be skipped. I have just reached out to your store owner email, thank you for your feedback and I will try to improve the app onboarding process.

This app has reduced the workload for our CX team and increased customer satisfaction by enabling the customer to cancel their order on their own if needed. I noticed the app included a "void authorization if order cancelled" action but it wasn't available in Flow. The app developer added it to Flow in less than 24 hours so now we're getting other benefits than just cancelling orders. Thanks for the quick assistance!
