ChatGPT Gemini Shopping Feed
The VNest ChatGPT Shopping Feed app has received mixed reviews from users. Positive aspects include its ease of setup, seamless UI, and the ability to tag product pages for AI visibility, leading to improved search results. Users appreciate the responsive and helpful support team. However, negative feedback revolves around issues with the robots.txt editing feature causing problems with Google Ads campaigns, as well as the injection of attribution data into customer-facing order notes. Some users have reported a lack of results in terms of AI search visibility despite using the app for an extended period. Overall, the app is recommended for those looking to enhance their products' visibility on ChatGPT, but caution is advised regarding potential technical issues and customer-facing data.
Honestly didn't expect the setup to be this quick. Installed it, connected the store, feed was generating in about ten minutes. No theme edits, no CSV exports, which is usually where these feed apps lose me. It crawls the product pages and tags them so AI assistants can read the catalog properly, then pushes that to ChatGPT and Gemini. I'd been handling the Gemini side separately through Merchant Center and half-guessing at what Google actually wanted from the product data. Not doing that anymore. UI is clean too. Everything's where you'd expect it, nothing buried three menus deep. Closest comparison I can make is a proper SEO tool, just aimed at AI search instead of Google's results page. Different game, same idea. Worth saying you won't see much on day one. The feed goes out fast, the visibility takes a while. Not the app's fault, that's just how it works. Would recommend, especially if you know AI search matters and have no idea where to start.
Amazing app! Easy to setup and seamless UI. It crawls the product pages and tags them for AI visibility. It's like using a premium SEO tool but for Chatgpt! HIghly recommend it!
Thank you — glad the setup felt effortless. Since your review we've added the real Google Merchant Center feed with the AI shopping attributes Google AI Mode and Gemini need, so there's more visibility upside available on your plan now. Anything you want to see next, just tell us. — Yogesh, Founder
Be careful with the robots.txt editing feature — it misconfigured AdsBot-Google which broke our Google Ads campaigns. The app also injects attribution data into order notes visible to customers. After using the app for over a month, we saw zero results in terms of AI search visibility. Not suitable for premium brands.
Thank you for this, both issues were real and both are now fixed. AdsBot-Google, Googlebot and every major ad and search crawler are permanently protected and can no longer be blocked by the app under any setting. robots.txt edits are now additive only, with a preview screen and one-click revert. We have also removed order note writing entirely; attribution is stored inside the app, never in customer-facing fields. On visibility, the app now ships a real Google Merchant Center feed with the AI shopping attributes ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode use to recommend products, which is where measurable movement comes from. Can't get any word from support despite multiple attempts through several channels. In "fixing" our non-existent robots.txt liquid file, the app prevents our Google Ads account and similar from crawling our site. Big non-no which prevented all ads from running. It also puts attribution data into our customer's Order Notes field, which is customer-facing in our email notifications and I suspect overwrites any note the customer puts there in our shopping cart.
Thank you for your feedback, You were right on both counts, and the support silence was our failure. Fixed since: AdsBot-Google and all ad/search crawlers are now permanently whitelisted and cannot be blocked by the app; robots.txt changes are additive with a preview and one-click revert; and order note writing has been removed completely, so nothing touches your customers' notes. Support is now answered within 24 hours at [email protected]. If you'd like to test it again, I'll handle your setup personally. — Yogesh, Founder
