This app has the potential to be a game changer for streamlining product connections across brands. However, it's become a major liability for our business. When retailers are connected, collective images from all partners are counted against each individual account’s file storage—yet users have no ability to modify or manage these images. Compounding the issue, Shopify provides no tools to track how far over the storage limit an account may be, and even deleting products does not remove the associated images. Without visibility or control, this creates an unsustainable and opaque system for retailers. After extended use, it’s become clear the app has deeper, unresolved issues. One of the most serious occurs when a supplier becomes ineligible to sell on Collective: all related products are automatically removed from your store. Any prior work—image optimization, advertising, or other marketing setup—must then be rebuilt from scratch, leading to unnecessary time loss and added cost. To make matters worse, re-importing those products also counts against your daily variable limits. This concern was raised with the Collective team, but no response or resolution was provided.
