If you just need an app that will allow you to send shipments to another address this app will work for you. However, if you care about the analytics of your website DO NOT INSTALL THIS APP. Not only will this app inflate your order numbers (each GiftShip order counts as 2 orders) but it will also miscalculate your financial analytics. This does not mean you won't get paid what you are owed, it means that you will not be able to distinguish what you actually MADE through GiftShip. I have spent countless hours trying to figure out financial analytics including hours on support calls with BOTH Shopify and Gist and it was determined that the API between Gist and Shopify is faulty and Gist was unable to figure out how to send appropriate data to Shopify for store owners to get accurate meaningful analytics.

It's through the leveraging of Draft Orders, that on the analytics side, a filter simply needs to be added to have reports amended accurately. This can be common amongst use cases that leverage Draft Orders.
