Metafields Guru is absolutely indispensable for any serious Shopify store. Their app makes managing metafields and metaobjects in bulk not only possible, but safe and efficient. The built-in validation system is outstanding—it prevents errors before they happen, so you cannot accidentally break your store or push incorrect data. This level of protection is invaluable when working at scale. We were facing a critical issue with over 1.5 million leftover store-level metadata entries left behind by a risky third-party app that refused to acknowledge or clean up the data. Deleting store metadata is extremely sensitive and risky, yet Sasha from Metafields Guru went far beyond the app’s normal scope. She carefully created the necessary structures, prepared a clean CSV workflow, and guided us through a safe import process to remove the data. The cleanup took an entire day, but it was done properly and securely. What truly sets Metafields Guru apart is not just the power of the app, but the human support behind it. Their team treats complex problems with care, precision, and responsibility. Thanks to them, we regained peace of mind and could refocus on growing our business. This works very well for us when we need to bulk update the estimated shipping date for thousands of orders at once! We love this app, and the customer support is incredible.

I chose Metafields Guru after reading its promises of “one-click bulk management,” “Excel-like automation,” and “Shopify Flow integration that speeds up work.” After using the app and exchanging several emails with the team, here is the reality: 1. No real automation – Every metafield/metaobject value still has to be typed or pasted manually. Filters help, but they don’t auto-populate or predict data. 2. Feature overlap with Shopify – Shopify’s free admin already lets me bulk-edit metafields in a grid, copy/paste across products, and automate assignments with Flow. MG adds no time-saving logic beyond what I can do natively. 3. Paid tiers ≠ extra value – The “Excel-like editor,” “advanced editor,” and credit-based bulk actions are just alternative UIs for tasks Shopify covers for free. The advertised productivity gain is missing. Because the delivered functionality does not match the marketing claims, I’m requesting a full refund of my subscription and any unused app credits.
Recently, Shopify updated its review publishing process to let developers preview reviews before publication. Yesterday, upon seeing a negative review from a merchant who briefly used our app without contacting support, our dev team investigated if the merchant could've encountered any technical issues and confirmed everything was fine. After I reached out to the merchant, we had a constructive dialogue where he pointed out disappointment from unfulfilled expectations of AI-powered automation, which had never been advertised. We also discussed other automation-related topics, which, despite being raised and quoted by the merchant, couldn't be found on our resources. Today, Shopify published an edited version of the review with unjustified accusations of misleading marketing. It surprised the entire team and contrasted with the conversation in a support ticket, where we appeared to come to a mutual understanding. As a team behind the category-leading app, we constantly improve our product, are open to suggestions, and are down to help our users even with issues that do not relate to our product. At the same time, we value the reputation we earned over the past 6 years and can't let a misinterpretation affect it. Great app with a lot of features. It makes working with metafields much easier, especially when you have to organize and maintain a lot of them. The Excel-like editor, in particular, is a real game changer.

Awesome! The support went above and beyond — they extended what was needed, made a deep search into my issue, and solved it instantly. The app itself is great and made my Shopify store run much smoother, fully adapting to the metafields functions they offer. Highly recommend both the app and the team behind it!

In den letzten Wochen haben wir versucht, unsere Metafelder mit Zusatzdaten der Artikel in den Shop zu importieren. Dabei haben wir verschiedene Anbieter getestet, aber mit keinem zufriedenstellende Ergebnisse erzielt. Dies lag möglicherweise auch daran, dass viele Anbieter diesen Service nicht besonders priorisieren. Auf Empfehlung von Gabe haben wir es mit Metafields Guru versucht. Allerdings hatten wir auch nach mehreren Versuchen Schwierigkeiten, die Metafelder erfolgreich zu importieren – was eindeutig an unserer eigenen Unerfahrenheit lag. Der entscheidende Unterschied zu anderen Anbietern zeigte sich jedoch im Support. Nachdem wir Sascha von Metafields Guru kontaktiert und unsere Datei zugeschickt hatten, erhielten wir nur wenige Stunden später eine detaillierte Rückmeldung. Sascha hatte nicht nur genau analysiert, wie wir vorgehen müssen, sondern lieferte auch eine Anleitung mit Screenshots, die den Importprozess Schritt für Schritt erklärte. Dank dieser Unterstützung funktionierte der Import auf Anhieb. Obwohl Metafields Guru eine komplexe und umfangreiche Anwendung ist, haben wir uns aufgrund der herausragenden Unterstützung und Erreichbarkeit des Teams für ein Abonnement entschieden. Extremely powerful app that really allows you to add as many custom fields of data as you need. The fields are exposed in the Shopify API via connections such as Celigo, making it very easy to sync data between ERPs and Shopify. Reaching out to support was easy, helpful, and a great experience. I would highly suggest you looking at this program if you need more power with Metafieds and Shopify!

Perfect for my use case and very easy to download/upload after my first mistake of forgetting to check the "download empty metafields" to get a template. I was uploading .csv files of JSON which I'm not familiar with and there was an error in the JSON code. I contacted them and they got back to me right away with Shopify's own help documents. I figured out my error and was able to complete my project. If you're doing a lot of uploading it's probably best to purchase the unlimited option. In my case I was able to do almost all my project with the test credits (although I did waste quite a few on my own trials and errors before reaching out) and I purchased additional credits at a very reasonable cost. I will absolutely use them for my next project coming up next month. If I were doing more I'd do the subscription for sure but I think topping up credits because I can't predict my workload is the best solution for me and I'm very grateful it's an option. Overall, great experience!

Completely fantastic support. I have the most silly questions and Sasha always provides me with insanely good instructions with sceenshots. She even added some code that helped me with some padding where needed. Always insanely was responsen aswell.
