GeoStock: Multi Location

Asked about syncing with Google Business Profile. Support explained the integration isn't built in but provided a data feed format compatible with Google's inventory API. Our developer set up the feed and now Google Maps shows our real-time stock levels. Customers find us on Google and see what's available before visiting.

Canadian stores needed metric units while US stores use imperial. Support set up unit localization per location — Canadian locations display in metric, US locations in imperial. The widget automatically adapts based on which store the customer is viewing. Regional accuracy without manual switching.

Widget wasn't showing on collection pages, only product pages. Support confirmed collection page support exists and helped me enable it. The widget shows a summary of stock availability across locations for each product in the collection. Customers can filter by 'available near me' before clicking into a product.

Wanted to show inter-store transfer availability when the nearest store is out of stock. Support configured the transfer suggestion feature — customers see 'Out of stock here — available at Downtown, transfer available in 2 days'. It triggers a notification to our logistics team. Customers love having the option rather than just a dead end.

Stock trend data wasn't available in the widget but support exported our historical data so I could analyze it externally. The analysis showed clear weekend sellout patterns for three products. We adjusted our restocking schedule based on the data they provided.

Location-specific pricing alongside stock levels isn't supported natively. Support explained the pricing model is handled by Shopify Markets, but they helped me add a note per location showing 'In-store price may vary'. Manages customer expectations without creating a pricing conflict.

Asked about flagging overstocked locations for a pickup promotion. Support configured a threshold alert that highlights locations with more than 50 units of a product. We used it to run a 'free shipping on pickup from these stores' promotion. The promotion cleared out overstock from two locations within a week.

Great app and Great Support

Asked about showing custom pickup messages per location — same-day for downtown, next-day for the suburbs. Support walked me through the location-level custom fields. Each store now shows its own pickup window alongside the stock count. Customers mention the estimated time in their order notes which tells me they're actually reading it.

I wanted the widget to suggest the next nearest store when an item is out of stock locally instead of just showing a dead end. Support walked me through the fallback location setting and tested it with me. Now customers see 'Available at Oak Park — 12 miles away' instead of just 'out of stock'. Two customers mentioned it by name the first week.

Adding three new locations caused our product pages to load almost two seconds slower. Support identified that the widget was making separate API calls for each location. They enabled batch loading on our account — one call pulls all five locations at once. Load time went back to normal. Would not have figured out the cause on my own, let alone the fix.

We have two locations about 40 miles apart and customers were constantly calling to ask which one had a specific item. Since GeoStock went live on our product pages, those calls have dropped to almost nothing. The stock levels update in real time and customers just check before they drive.
