Amazing app and developer. We have many customers using this app allowing them to purchase our goods and pay off their order over 6 months. This has enabled us to reach customers that have previously abandoned their carts due to financial insecurity and lower income families that rather pay over a certain amount of time. The customer service is over and beyond and Warrin always answers our questions within a few minutes of emailing him during business hours and first thing the next morning outside of these hours. Always friendly and helpful helping me understand the app and its abilities without any jargon that most people wouldn't understand. Highly recommend people to install this app as it will help you grow your business and allow payments from those that you may be losing.

We have have been using Lay by for a little while on our store. Granted our product is $2000 AUD but it has enabled people that would not usually be able to afford our product an option to buy one. Offering them a 6 month payment plan leading up to christmas. It takes all the management time out of keeping track of laybys. Best value for money app we have working for us.

Update: The issue has been solved. The problem was that the client had a wrong credit card linked to his PayPal account so from the side of PayPal there was not founds to create two months plan. I'm still waiting for the answer from PayPal to see what they have to say. I installed the app again in my shop. Issue: The app is not registering the orders in Shopify and also in PayPal, my client got fully charged for the entire order instead of 50/50. I installed as in your guides but I got the first transaction today and complain from the client so I just don't want to use it. This app is great when it works. Mine has alot of issues canceling customers accounts, and charging customers for orders that are already complete. Would be really helpful if there was a phone number for customer service. app is a bit confusing to navigate and very limited.

Not sure why some of the negative reviews below. I've managed to install and create this as a payment alternative in Shopify settings easy enough. Can't comment much on the sales side of this app as my shop has only just gone live. I've tested the processing of an order and it all seemed alright. I'm drawn to this type of payment system because of my business type it works much like an artist commisions that require a deposit to start and remaining balance paid on completion. I'm giving these guys ago because of my target market (Australians) are addicted to lay-buys & those other get now and pay later systems and this gives those people another option. Not to be rude towards Lay-buys but I think you need to hire a graphic/web designer to improve your brand identity and the user interface as it looks a bit dated. Fixing this will build confidence in those who wish to use your payment option and give shop owners a better hook when selling your payment option to customers. Besides that, this app deserves more attention as it is a great concept and shops would benefit from using it.

This seems to be a very under rated and FREE app. The basic setup is actually pretty easy. Set up an account with Put it On Lay-Buy. On the Put it On Lay-Buy website - Enter in the PayPal API details - 3 items. Install the Payment method into Shopify (sticks it into the list of Third Party Payment methods) Install the App into Shopify. Then jump over to Shopify and select Put It On Lay-Buy from the Third Party Payment methods. Enter in your sign up email and the account code they give you. Literally ten minutes after setting this up we had a Lay-By sale. We did put up a banner on our website advertising it. The sale went through fine - we received the deposit and the App in Shopify shows the sale details. The buttons could do with a bit of modernization like a previous reviewer said. We are very pleased with this app. Solid effort !!!

Been waiting since November for assistance via my tech agency - Pixel Supply. No one will respond to emails for assistance. Missed out on many sales because app wasn't working. Followed all instructions and asked for support with no response.

All I know is this slowed my site down. It created delays of up to 1.3 minutes. Totally unusable with this flaw. I wouldn't recommend at this point

This is a good App, easy to integrate and for customer to use. It would be more beneficial for us though if weekly payments could be an option instead of monthly. Because we offer 8 week plans and require regular payments. Therefore we send a lot of invoices out via paypal instead so we can be paid weekly.

Edited 10/15/20: There aren't a lot of apps I would come back three times for, but Lay-Buys has been a favorite of ours for a long time now (see below). Our customers love it, it increases our average order size, and it costs us NOTHING, ever. I can't recommend any app more, so I've come back to let readers know that we've been using it since 2016 and find it crucial to our success and growth. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by installing this one for your customers! Edited 1/25/18: We've been using this app for 18 months now, and it has increased both our sales and our cart size very noticeably. We currently have over 24 orders on the Lay Buys program, which shows how much customers appreciate it! Many of these orders are from repeat customers who were very happy using it the first time and have come back for more collectibles, using it again to help budget those larger purchases. I see a couple reviews stating that the app slows down page load, but it does not slow down loading on our site, so perhaps they're mistaken about the cause of their slow load? We've had no issue with the app's operation, and it remains one of our most valuable add-ons to our Shopify site in terms of increased revenue. We've contacted Lay Buys support a few times with questions or to request tweaks to the app and Warrin always responds promptly with the help or feature we've requested. Truly, we couldn't be happier! And all this comes at zero cost to us, and very little cost to the customer? It's a huge win all around! Original review was in 2016: I waited to write this review until we saw a completed transaction using it. Our first use was a $900+ purchase, and it went smoothly for both the customer and for us. We both received notifications every step of the way, and she received a notice a couple days in advance of the monthly payment date so she knew when it would be coming out. That's perfect. When the final payment was made, she got a thank-you, and we got notice that the order was completed and can now be fulfilled. With no charge to the merchant (how refreshing!) and a minimal charge to the customer - less than one percent, this app has jumped up my favorite list quickly! A fantastic app to offer Lay-by for your customers online. Warrin is incredible with helping you get set up and resolve any initial issues but the app works perfectly. The major downsides are the limited ability for visual customisation (for those who want a completely consistent 'look and feel') and the inability to set a minimum spend to use lay-buy at checkout. That said it's still a great solution and I believe the best one available. Thanks again to Warrin!

I had been looking for an option to offer layaway via our commerce store and Lay Buy to the rescue. The set up is a little involved, but well worth it. Support was great! I highly recommend it.

LAY-BUY is the only layby & layaway solution available for Shopify seller. Founder of lay-buy Warrin is very kind-hearted and patient installing the App for me, and assisting me adding a button on /cart page. Loving this app, and the app is very easy to use, and I hope we have more sales as it offers an optional payment method, which may be useful for some buyers.
