Months later, I was shocked to discover a random $20 charge from this app on my Shopify invoice. Despite my immediate attempts to dispute the charge with Shopify, I was informed that app developers like SEOAnt operate with minimal accountability and, seemingly, without oversight. Shopify deflects responsibility, while the app creators remain unresponsive and unaccountable for unauthorized charges. This experience highlights a glaring issue: app developers can charge users arbitrarily with no consequence, even after their apps are removed. Such practices are not only unethical but suggest a complete disregard for the Shopify community and paying merchants. At this point, I simply want my money refunded for a service I did not use or authorize. I strongly urge other Shopify merchants to exercise caution before installing SEOAnt—or any app that exploits the lack of checks and balances on Shopify’s platform. If this charge is not resolved, I will escalate the matter further. Transparency, accountability, and fair business practices are non-negotiable, and SEOAnt has fallen far short of these standards.
