Competitor discovery based on our product category. Support showed me the market scan feature that identifies Shopify stores selling similar products. Found three competitors I didn't know existed, two of which were undercutting our prices on key products. The discovery feature expanded our competitive awareness.
SEO meta tag tracking. Support enabled the page title and meta description change detection. Caught a competitor rewriting all their meta titles to target long-tail keywords we weren't covering. We updated our own SEO strategy based on the competitive intelligence.
Restock alerts for previously out-of-stock competitor products. Support set up the restock detection that monitors inventory status and alerts when an out-of-stock item comes back. A competitor restocked their bestseller after two weeks and I had ads running on our equivalent within the hour.
Market positioning report showing where our prices sit relative to the average. Support configured the market position dashboard that plots our price for each product against the monitored average. Immediately identified 12 products where we were more than 25% above market. Adjusted pricing on eight of them. Data-driven pricing decisions.
Monitoring failure notification. Support enabled the health check alert that notifies me when monitoring on any competitor stops working — URL changes, store closures, or technical issues. No more silently missing competitive data for weeks. The reliability monitoring is as important as the competitive monitoring
