over charged beware
Hi. I've processed a full refund of the most recent charge. I promise you this is a misunderstanding and not any kind of intentional overcharge on our part. It's a defect in the Shopify billing system and we have been trying to get it corrected for years. When it happens we refund as soon as we're made aware which I have done for you now. This billing system is handled by Shopify and we're required by them to use it. We never over-charge but the billing system Shopify requires all apps to use is very unclear when it comes to recurring monthly charges. It always charges up front, on a future bill, and it means that people often receive the charge for a period they didn't actually use in full an extended period after uninstall. There's no way to ofter an automatic pro-rated refund on uninstall. There's no automated way to detect this or defend against it that we've found. We've asked Shopify to improve this system numerous times over the years but have never gotten any action from them. In any case, I'll send you a follow up message but I'm very sorry this happened and we'll absolutely make it right. - Shane
