Tax Jar - The juice ain't worth the squeeze. Tax Jar filed incorrect sales & use with the State of New Jersey for us and wanted us to pay Tax Jar again to correct mistakes their app makes. Sounds like a winner right! Taxable and non taxable items in shopify do not line up with Tax jars system. When a sale happens on shopify it goes through Tax jar’s system and you have re-categorize every single sale to ensure non taxable items are not taxed. Nothing like going backwards when busy season is happening to correct these mistakes Tax Jar app makes. This is what happened to us, we had to pay sales tax out of pocket on non taxable items. Now to the real kicker, Tax Jar just doubled their pricing from $19.00 a month to $39.00 a month. So you have a company who’s unwilling to correct their mistakes as well as doubling prices for an app that truly does not simplify your life or work properly.
