This app helps to plug a big hole in Shopify. The in person POS setup for Shopify doesn't manage the typical way a bar or restaurant does sales, with payment at the end of the night (which tends to increase tips if we're doing our job right). We considered abandoning Shopify, despite the online sales presence, because of this. This app allows us to manage tabs - it takes a few extra clicks, but it is serviceable, and works well. The high rating is because there is no other app that does this in Shopify and saved us from having to completely redesign our web presence. I would argue that this should be part of the base Shopify product. Some weird interactions that I think could be cleaned up. When you open a tab, it clears the cart - this is good. When you update the cart it doesn't clear the cart, which can create some confusion. We've added a button on the tabs POS screen of add customer and have a number of customers for Table 1, Table 2, Patio 1, Patio 2 ... The notes field helps because we can associate a name to the table. The split function is nice. I would add a radio button in the dialog to indicate which split tab becomes the active cart after the split. Oh, and the benefit of being able to pull a tab from one device to another is a huge plus, allowing us to consider taking orders on our own individual devices and leaving it on a tab. An additional function I would love to see is the ability to print a tab, both so we can remember when the bar gets busy, and so we can use it as a bill for the customer. Thanks for this product.

We're a fabric store and we use the app to cut fabric at one register and save the customer's cart. They can keep shopping and then checkout at another register. I just wish that the app would automatically release inventory when loading a cart (Instead of offering you the choice to keep the hold). This might not matter for some use cases and probably doesn't for restaurants, but for a retail store we think having the option is strange. It isn't a big deal, we just don't use the option. Great app and the only one that way to easily start an invoice on one device and finish it on another.

This app is complete dogshit. You dont need it. To run a tab, just create a customer, add customer to cart then save the cart. You can pull the cart up and add to it or checkout thereafter.
The client is correct in that you do not need the app __if you only utilise a single tablet in your establishment__ If however you have multiple tablets, and you need to recall a Cart on any tablet, the standard Shopify functionality will not let you recall a Cart on any other tablet. You will need an app such as UbarTab to support such requirements. UbarTab also handles real-time inventory tracking when placing items onto a Tab, thus ensuring your inventory is correctly tracked across multiple Tabs and devices. Regards

It seems like this app is not working with the new version of Shopify POS App. It needs to be updated
Apologies for the inconvenience. The app does work for the new version but the documentation is outdated. If you decide to try the app again, please reach out and I will be happy to provide a guide that will get you started.

Where can I look up a youtube tutorial on how to use this app for staff members? I want to get everyone on board on how to keep open tabs for customers.
