How can I perform a system restore from the latest backup? I can't find where to enable system restore. Also, I can't find where to ask for help. atte stgo castillo desde santiago chile

Merry Christmas! Restoration are handled in the "Backup Records" part of the app. They are automatically restorable as soon as the first backup is finished - no need to enable them. Any record in the list can be restored back to an old version by clicking on the record to see it's details. There, you'll see a difference view of the latest change against what is currently in shopify. On that page, you can also select which version you'd like to view in the dropdown. And, at the bottom, there is a 'restore this record' button that will restore the version selected. Alternatively, you can choose to restore a group of records within the list view by selecting multiple records within the view (via the checkboxes or select all for the entire category). When selected, you can choose "Restore records to date" which will allow you to choose the date you want to restore the selected records to. A visual guide on how to restore can be found here: https://taloncommerce.com/help/talon-backups/restore/ Asking for help can be done in a few places. The best is probably the help navigation within the app. At the bottom of the frequently asked questions is a help form. That form's messages are sent directly to me, Michael, the developer of this app. I answer as soon as I am able which is usually very fast.

We've tried other backup apps. This one is the most professional. It's simple to work with. And the price is fair. Very impressed.

I have always been nervous about the fact that Shopify does not do a backup of the store, or at least not one that can be accessed by the owner in the event of anything going wrong. Some of the apps that do this are quite costly for a small store, also with some of them you have no idea whether they have worked until you find you have to do a restore. What I like about this app is that you can see any part of your store, be it blog posts or products or whatever and restore at the click of a button. So, it's not just a handy app to have should disaster strike but also allows you to reinstall a previous version of sections if you have been editing them etc. Any app is only as good as its support and I'm happy to say the support here is excellent. Michael was delving into a problem for me as soon as I notified him of it and in the end discovered that it was a fault with Shopify and not the website. I highly recommend this app for anyone who wants peace of mind.

Highly recommend Automatic Backups by Talon - well priced back up app that earned it's keep yesterday when I accidentally deleted several high traffic blog posts. Customer service was excellent too, as I'd deleted the blog they were under, so Michael put a patch in place for me to very quickly to restore the posts. Great value and great customer service.

Works seamlessly, UI is very simple and is the cheapest backup solution out here. Props to this app.

Very bad help and support. They never reply your queries. I have never experienced such a thing before. All Apps support answer except this one
We received and responded to your emails sent on the 13th and the 14th. In fact, I responded personally to both of them on the day we received them. It sounds like you did not receive my responses. It's likely that they were spam filtered by your email provider. The responses are from "[email protected]".

So far the App installation and automatic backups have been easy and seamless. It does provide great peace of mind.

Doesn't seem to backup orders. You'd think orders would be the most important thing on a shopping site.
Update: I'm changing my reply to reflect that the app can now indeed back up orders optionally, but could not at the time of the review. For a long time, the app did not back up customer or order records for three reasons: 1. This type of data is very sensitive, and many shops do not want apps to have access to it. The app still does not request access to these records unless you explicitly turn it on (still). 2. Order records in Shopify cannot be fully restored by any app because details such as payment information are hidden from all apps. The complete record simply is not available. Customer records, likewise, cannot full restore customer login passwords for the same reason - no app can restore these as no app has access to them. 3. Completed order records are not deletable, only archivable. This means that the only reason you would need such a feature is if Shopify themselves lost the record, which, to my knowledge, hasn't happened. These reasons remain true. Still, having a backup of the data that apps can access is comforting to many businesses, and the feature was often requested. Therefore, I implemented it as an optional feature.

I like it. Simple and to the point without a lot of fluff. Backs me up daily and does a nice job of compartmentalizing [Yay! I finally get to use that word in a sentence!] certain sections of the site.

works, does what it says. handy to monitor changes. I like that it keeps the blogs and theme data changes for at least a month. Also can monitor any changes well.

So far so good! I quite literally just did my first backup, and I now have a lot of peace of mind. I was able to keep doing other work while the backup was happening, also nice! .

I can't express how perfect this App is for Backups. The UI is great, its super simple to use and setup, gives a comparison of previous backups and current backups in a GitHub like compare, and its very affordable. As our store grows and more users are making changes, the peace of mind having backups in the event of mistakes is a must have. Get this insurance... great job with this!

A vital app for my online store as it backs up almost everything especially the theme page codings and can easily go back to the versions I need to.
