Circle Hand for Consignment
All reviews
There are some great features, such as payout requests for consignors and a decent consignor portal - to be fair, consignors seem to really like it. The AI descriptions are a little patchy- there are some items that the software refuses to learn, such as baby jumpsuits (which we process hundreds of every week!) and differentiating between jeans and other pants. Unfortunately, Circle‑Hand has caused repeated oversold items and duplicate sales in my two‑location store, and isn't a reliable source of truth for multi‑location inventory. Despite being marketed as Shopify‑native, there are no effective safeguards (for example, +1 and −1 stock across locations still allows online sales), and I’ve spent significant time manually fixing errors, and disappointed lots of customers. Support has been inconsistent and often evasive: direct questions about what is synced, how, and when, as well as requests for documentation or for other multi‑location users, have not been clearly answered. Suggested “solutions” depend on perfect staff behaviour and manual workarounds rather than robust automation. In my experience, Circle‑Hand may be great for simpler setups, but multi‑location sellers should be aware of the risk of overselling and the limited safeguards and support. I am considering going back to ConsignCloud (which required more steps to get things listed, but was a lot more reliable), or finding a new option altogether. Fingers crossed they make the required improvements so I can avoid changing software again.
Thanks for your honest review. We are glad to hear consignors love the portal, but we are sorry the multi-location workflow hasn't met your expectations. You are right that with Shopify multi-location inventory, sales need to be processed through the correct Shopify POS location. If an item is sold from a different POS location before its inventory location is updated, Shopify creates -1 inventory at the selling location while another location still shows +1. In that case, the item may remain available online. This was not ideal. Based on your feedback and iterations we went through together, we released several updates and came up with the following solutions to make this workflow easier to manage: (1) Circle-Hand now sends the location of an item as a tag so Shopify, so that it can be more easily used in automations. (2) We designed a Shopify Flow to automatically remove items from your online store if one POS locations shows -1. (3) We improved Circle-Hand's bulk scanning tool, allowing staff to quickly scan items with a phone camera or barcode scanner and update locations in bulk. (4) If you use collections in Shopify you can add the condition "Inventory greater than 0". Shopify collections calculate inventory across locations, so +1-1 = 0, it will then no longer be visible online. We also updated our Shopify documentation with clearer guidance for multi-location setups. We also appreciate your feedback on AI descriptions and will review the examples you shared with our team. We know how much time manual fixes take and we appreciate you pushing us to make Circle-Hand better. We hope these updates help you going forward.
