We have been using this app for a couple of years now. We have had a few issues with it, but Zonos support is always quick to find the solution or explain certain calculations. They have done a great job with taking the burden of worrying about Duties and Taxes for international shipments!

'Been using it for a few months. Not really sure how the pricing goes. For Canadian shipment I often see a $13 advancement fee which I don't understand. Zonos replied to my inquiry it's a FedEx fee to advance pay the duties and taxes which makes no sense since those duties are paid by us up front or by customer on delivery. FedEx is unresponsive at this point. I have my doubts the app is valuable or not to my internal shipping operation.
We appreciate you providing us with feedback and see that we can do a better job at clarifying for online retailers what the fees associated with a landed cost are and where they come from. Since Zonos allows you to tie directly into your carrier account, pulling your exact shipping rates and fees from their API, Zonos has no control over the additional fees charged by carriers. Most of the big carriers do charge what they call an advancement fee or prepayment fee on all international shipments with owed duties and taxes, whether prepaid or collected upon delivery. This is the fee they charge for paying those duties and taxes on you or your customer's behalf at customs entry. We encourage reaching out to your carrier for clarification of those carrier fees and the related charges, and hope that you have heard from them. We love Zonos. Using this app, we've been able to scale our business around the world. Their support staff came to our need over the weekend and we're incredibly helpful. 10/10 would recommend.

I rolled out Zonos in the 4th quarter, and the team there helped me get up and running in no time. We can now provide a much better customer experience to our international customers by eliminating any uncertainty around their total landed costs.

we've been working with Zonos for year, and so far its been nothing short of an amazing experience, great support, great peoples and an app that does exactly what it is supposed to do!

Edited in 2024: I was contacted by Zonos a few years after writing a 2020 review and they explained the program is completely different now from what it was in 2020, based on customer feedback. They issued a full refund for the overcharges from 2020, with no expectation of an updated review. The entire refund transaction was respectful and professional and based on that alone I would give them another opportunity. We are not shipping as much internationally so we don't need the app now, but if our international shipping got busy then I would give them another look. I never had any unpleasant interactions with any of their support team during what was a stressful time for us in 2020 with huge overcharges from DHL. They say they have now taken over all the charges from DHL so our experience would be 100% different with no overcharged duties. That is reassuring and I'd be glad to deal with them in future. I have updated the review from 1 star to 3 stars based on the customer service. Earlier review from 2020: Would give MINUS 5 stars if possible. I've lost $600 by shipping my most recent five orders using this app. (Zonos reported, and customers were charged, shipping, taxes and duties of $2960.57, but DHL charged me $3560.42 for those five shipments.) I've spent hours trying to deal with the problem and provide accurate info to their support team in the past five months I've had the app installed. Their support team responds quickly but is useless at fixing the actual problems with the app, despite my providing detailed screenshots of exactly what is occurring with shipping pricing. Despite their "fixing" the dimensions of the products. Despite their "fixing" the charges. Nothing actually "fixed" the reason the app continually undercharged every single international customer for shipping, taxes and duties. Oh, and of course, absolutely zero refunds from them and zero response to my multiple requests for a refund of the monthly fee or the shipping undercharges. I relied on others' glowing reviews to install Zonos but this app completely disappointed and I would 100% recommend you stay away from it. I suggest checking out EasyShip or FlavorCloud for shipping from US to international destinations. That's what I'm doing as soon as I uninstall Zonos.
We sincerely appreciate your feedback. We are deeply disappointed that we couldn't work out this situation with you. Since the shipping rates that come through our app come directly from your carrier via their API, the calculations are at the mercy of proper setup and having correct weights and dimensions for your items. Had we hopped on a call together, we are sure we could have found a quick resolution. We tried multiple times to jump on a Zoom or phone call, but perhaps the time of year made it difficult for us to sync up. We would like to work through the problems and take care of any merited refunds. Again, we apologize for your negative experience, and we would still like to take care of you even if this means you do not use Zonos in the future.

Update 8-12: After posting this review , i was contacted directly by a customer support team member who has been working with me one on one to solve the issues we are incurring with inaccurate estimates which Zonos was providing our customers. Due to the major limitations with Shopify's shipping attributes and what they give developers access to in their API , Zonos is pretty handcuffed into how it has to actually do its job. They are using many workarounds in their software to fix issues that could EASILY be solved by Shopify directly. I complained about the cost of Zonos, but now I have a better understanding why its so expensive. Their support team and how much effort they actually have to put into helping customers to receive accurate estimates must be very costly. You are not just paying for the app, you are paying for their guidance in getting it to work properly. I still don't know that their workarounds and solutions are successful yet so im bumping my review one star for the level of attention we are getting. Zonos is the only app on the marketplace that does exactly what I need , so Im thankful there team is so helpful. ---- The back end of the app, and integrating into my store worked well. However the cost estimates have been wildly inaccurate with no rhyme or reasoning that I can deduce after analyzing a handful of transactions. I am also not too keen on the aggressive pricing and lack of response from customer service when we requested help (still waiting for a reply 4 days later). At $10/mo plus taking a cut of my GROSS revenue is pretty insane for an app. I will hope to integrate some other more cost efficient solution in the near future so I can breakaway from this service.

We were looking for an app that helps to identify international duties as our global customers were getting a shock once our products hit our customer's shores and there were unforeseen duties payable. With Zonos, our customers now know in advance and the best part is that they can pay for these at checkout for a seamless customer experience. Zonos and the team were amazing to answer questions and help get us set-up. Fantastic app, fantastic experience.

Update: It still doesn't work for us, but customer service made a good effort to try & resolve it. I will upgrade my review for that. Totally a good service if your products are standardized. Our product sizes are simply too large and complicated for Zonos. We will have to continue to use Advanced Shipping Rules and give a warning for Int'l customers. The landed cost did not work for us. We have a store with extensive items, many package sizes and weights, with different rules, tags, and more. This was all set up in ShipStation and Advanced Shipping Rules before I joined the company. I really, really wanted this app to work and spent a lot of time & effort trying to make it work. Perhaps it would, for a company with a simpler & more standardized catalog. It may partially be our fault, that sizes & weights are not stored on the product themselves, but on the product tags. I would give it 5 stars if it integrated with ShipStation and was able to pull data & tags from them. Hoping for this feature in the future.

Our shop installed Zonos to ease the process of international shipping! It has been such a great tool for us, as well as our customers, to allow an accurate estimate and pre-pay of duties and taxes on international orders. Also, the customer service at Zonos is amazing--they are always on top of it and responsive! Thank you to the Zonos team for making international shipping so easy!

The customer service provided by Zonos is fantastic. Very quick response times and without fuss. There were some integration issues from our end but Mark was able to rectify them quite easily.

We are just launching a shopify store, and Zonos has been fabulous helping us set up to sell internationally! Mark was incredibly patient helping me to get Zonos set up. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to calculate their international customs and duties on the front end of their customer's experience. Thank you, Mark!!! Update: The Zonos team continues to impress me. Fast, thorough, and just plain helpful. Such a breath of fresh air from so many companies with outsourced customer service, people that don't seem to even understand questions, let alone have answers. Than you guys!

I have been looking for an app that will dynamically apply the appropriate taxes and duties to e-com orders so that my customers do not have to pay these upon receipt (meaning easier and hassle-free delivery). Zonos is literally the only thing I have found on the market that does this. They worked with me on a very tight timeline to implement the app and even customize my checkout page across multiple stores. Highly recommended - there's just no comparison to trying to keep static tables for tax and duties calculation.

The support from Travis and the team was fantastic! Zonos app provided a key need in our international strategy, and should be your go to for an ideal cross border customer experience. We're two weeks in and it's been a big help for our international shipments.

This app and team was exactly what my business was looking for! Semisi and Taylor were beyond helpful and super thorough. They were also able to connect me with other companies they parter with to help with both my domestic and international shipping. Super excited to be working with this app!
