BE CAREFUL — Unexpected Charge After Uninstalling I am extremely disappointed with this app and its billing. I installed Essential Upsell on 13 August 2026 and uninstalled it on 30 August 2026 at 20:07. Shopify's App History clearly confirms the exact installation and uninstallation dates and times. Despite uninstalling the app, I was subsequently charged £14.92, which was included in my Shopify bill and paid. I was no longer using the app and it was no longer installed on my store when this charge was issued. I am now requesting a full refund of £14.92 and an explanation of exactly what this charge was for and what billing period it relates to. What concerns me most is that this type of charge can easily go unnoticed by Shopify merchants, especially when the amount is relatively small. In my case, however, I noticed it and have documented the entire installation and uninstallation history. This billing practice feels highly misleading and, if the charge relates to a period after the app was uninstalled, potentially fraudulent. I would strongly advise other Shopify merchants to check their Shopify bills carefully after uninstalling this app and make sure they are not being charged unexpectedly. I hope the developer resolves this immediately and refunds the £14.92.
Hi Nuvelle team, thank you for your feedback, and we’re sorry the charge was confusing for you. We’d like to clarify for you and other merchants: Essential Upsell never charges for time after an app is uninstalled. Shopify app charges cover the period when a paid plan was active, after the free trial ends. They aren’t taken right away. Shopify adds them to your bill and collects them in a later billing cycle, so a charge can show up a few weeks after you uninstall. Uninstalling doesn’t cancel a charge that’s already pending. That’s what happened here: the charge was for the few days your paid plan was active before you uninstalled. We’ve already refunded it in full through Shopify. Easy to setup... we use it for creating upselling bundles and it does a great job!
SecureIt's experience with Essential Upsell has been very good. We added it when we moved to Shopify and our upsells $ totaled 700% vs what app cost was last month!
