Z & Joxa Co. review for Ilana's JSON‑LD for SEO (TM)
May 4, 2026
I’ve been a paying customer of this app for a couple of years and recently ran into an issue after being billed for a renewal I missed canceling by just 5 days. I reached out promptly, expecting some flexibility given my long-term use, especially since the app’s own policy indicates that exceptions can be considered in certain cases. Despite that, I was told there are absolutely no exceptions, showing zero flexibility or consideration for customers, even in reasonable situations. What was more concerning than the refund denial itself was the tone of the communication. Throughout the interaction, I remained polite and professional in trying to resolve the issue. After a couple of follow-ups, I was told further emails would not be responded to and that my messages were “bordering on harassment,” which felt dismissive and not aligned with a customer-first approach. From a functionality standpoint, I also discovered that the app was duplicating structured data already provided by Shopify, which may negatively impact SEO rather than improve it. Overall, while the app may work for some, my experience with both the support and the value provided was disappointing. I would recommend others carefully evaluate whether it’s truly adding value to their store before committing long-term. If you are unsure, uninstall before your renewal because you will not get your money back.
When you installed in 2024, you had limited Rich Results. Over the course of the two years you had the app installed, not only did number of Rich Results increase, but you also doubled the types of Rich Results that show up for your store. These Rich Results were emailed to you every few months and annually as part of your billing reminder. Regarding the renewal charge, you received an email from me on March 11th, more than 30 days advance noticed, that your plan was about to renew. I believe Shopify also sends emails that your plan is about to renew. We gave you ample notice before you were charged. You forgetting to uninstall before you saw the charge on your bill is not an exceptional case for a refund. My policies are very clear which you agreed to when you signed up for the app. I remained polite and offered to help you get use out of the app since you already paid for it. You ignored my decision and continued to ask including trying to tattle to Shopify in order to manipulate a refund. Yes, it became borderline harassment after you made the 5th request for a refund and you would not accept the decision. In return you posted this one star review and said "If you’re open to reconsidering the refund as a one-time exception, I’d be happy to update my review to reflect that." That's extortion, not the sign of a "polite and professional" person.
