After investigation we found out that our inventory with Amazon is not sync correctly. Contacted support and they said that they only update inventory when Shopify have quantity updated, but if order placed on Amazon directly then they don't update quantity on Shopify unless you turn on order sync as well. Now we have to process inventory count to fix quantity that wasn't updated, and it's hours of work.
Thanks for your feedback, We want to clarify that Marketplace Connect is designed to update inventory in Shopify when there is a quantity change in Shopify itself. For orders placed directly on Amazon, the inventory update on Shopify requires the order to be synced to your store. The inventory decrement is triggered by the action of pushing the order to Shopify, ensuring that all sales channels are accurately updated. We have reached out directly to further discuss. Nikki
