I installed this app to evaluate whether it would work for my Shopify store. It wasn't the right fit for my business, so I uninstalled it and moved on. That should have been the end of the interaction. Instead, the company visited my website without my request, sent me an unsolicited "redesign" that completely discarded my branding and logo, and criticized my website because I chose not to use their app. When I explained that the redesign wasn't aligned with my brand, their response was to tell me they saw "no evidence of design or development expertise" on my site. I find this behavior completely unprofessional. I installed a Shopify app, not a website design service, and I certainly didn't invite an unsolicited critique of my business or my brand. Businesses should be able to evaluate apps without worrying that uninstalling them will result in unsolicited criticism or disparaging comments about their website. I will also be reporting this interaction to Shopify.

We did not mean to replace your branding, disregard your logo, or suggest that your existing brand direction was wrong. The quick AI-generated redesign was only shared as an example/reference, but we now understand that sending it without your request was inappropriate. We are truly sorry for that. We also apologize for the wording used in our follow-up message. It was not professional, and it does not reflect the standard of communication we want merchants to experience from us. We respect every business owner’s brand, creative direction, and decision to use or uninstall our app. This situation has been taken seriously, and we will use it as a learning point to improve our communication process going forward. Again, we sincerely apologize for the frustration caused. Since we have acknowledged the mistake and clarified that there was no intention to criticize or disrespect your business, we would respectfully request that you consider removing or updating the app comments related to this interaction.
