This app does not load on my pc.
Sorry to hear you're having issues accessing the app. If you're not the store owner, it may be because Staff permissions are not set to allow you to access all screens of the app. You can see in the Help documentation which permissions are required. https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/search-and-discovery#staff-permissions If the problem persists, we suggest contacting Shopify's support team with details on what browser you're using and any errors messages you might be seeing.

Unfortunately you cannot select what tags you want to create a filter about, you get what your store carry in total, and, NO metafields is not the answer it can only carry one value. A product should be able to carry multiple values and still be able to filter.. Right? Such as with tags, but what good is a SINGLE use tag filter. Once you use a tag filter it can never be used again because then it's cluttered with the other tags you wanted to use in the other filter. I mean WOW. How is it not possible to just have a selection of tags based on: Manual, prefix, suffix, etc. You should also be able to format the tags to be presented with automated rules as well. This is just not acceptable. It is just dumb and SO easy to fix. The funny thing, you know what, I just want to be able to sort on color on a single product with 24 variants (sizes, additions) but the same color across all the variants. The product itself contains Multiple colors and other products have different colors in it. This is not possible with Shopify at this moment in time. I have to use a third party app that replaces my collection-view which I've built out to be freaking amazing. With their basic themes, botching the whole design. That route didn't work either. So i'm left with liquid and javascripting. To filter a product by color.
Hi there, sorry to hear you're having trouble with the limitations with tag filtering. You can setup a metafield to support multiple values and filter on those. When you create a product or variant metafield, make it a "list type" by choosing "list of values" in the definition. For your color filtering, you can have variant-level metafields hold the color information and as long as you keep using the same variant-level metafield definition across your product variants, this may be what you're looking for.

Ne se désinstalle pas complètement provoque des bug et empêche l'installation d'autres applications de filtres. Fonctions très limitée et affichage non professionnel

It is a real junk app like most Shopify apps. The people responsible for managing these apps are not smart people and should probably seek employment elsewhere like McDonald's. It is 2024 and you merchants can't, for example, filter on percent discount or review distribution. Sure, you can do it, but it's a manual process. Try scaling that for large businesses and you are screwed.

Works well for small shops. I have a collection with 20K+ products, and this is useless.

This is a pathetic excuse for an app that is supposed to provide basic functionality. It's so limited that it's close to useless.

website not working right after installing this app. not compatible.
Sorry to hear you're having trouble with your site. The Search & Discovery app customizes native features of Shopify's platform, for example, choosing your collection filters or product recommendations. It does not inject any custom elements or scripts into your website to display these though, that is required of the theme. So there wouldn't be a change in behaviour post-install. We recommend contacting your online store theme's developer for support to see if it's having issues working with native Shopify APIs and features. Alternatively, you could contact the developers of any recently installed apps to see if they run custom scripts on your site that may have caused this issue.

When filtering by size on a collection page, it shows any products that have ever had that size in stock, whether they are currently in stock or not unless a user has also selected an availability filter. This is not a great customer experience. As filters on most platforms work, it should only show products with that size variant in stock. This seems to be basic functionality that isn't working.
Hi there; you can now control the display of out of stock product variants from the app's settings :) In the Settings screen, there is an "Out of stock products" section where you can choose to not show items in search results, which also applies to filtered views. You can find more information in the Help Center documentation https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/search-and-discovery/search#search-result-types

App fails to sync properly. App no longer populates other dropdown(s) in the store. App no longer appears to function as intended...
Thanks for reaching out. We took at look at your storefront and saw that there is a custom filtering feature that lets buyers chose a car variant, make and model. It looks like this feature sometimes controls the collection page layout, but not consistently. When the filters do appear, they seem to work as intended. We recommend reaching out to the developer or App that integrated this car part filtering feature to see if they can help ensure filters are always shown. Update: also, depending on the size of your collections and search results, filters will not be shown. See the Limitations section in the Help Docs: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/search-and-discovery/filters#limitations. Our team is aware the product count limitation for filters is an issue for merchants, and apologize for the inconvenience while we work a path forward.

This app has glaring design flaws and limited functionality. I should be able to create filters using specific tags that are relevant to certain collections, but there is no way to remove tags from the list OR choose a collection to display that filter on. So, what is the point of this app?
For more control over the filter values shown to buyers, we recommend using product metafields in the Help docs here: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/search-and-discovery/filters#add-metafield-filters. These also let you group related metafield values under the same metafield definition to give hierarchy to your filtering dropdowns, which may be more useful to you than a single drop down list of product tags.

Just shows a bunch of useless analytics with almost zero actual features. Just made a simple function SO complicated. Realized I HAD to use Chrome just to access basic tags on Shopify that I pay over a hundred dollars a month for? And when I finally got SOMEthing to work, it doesn't even function like I need it to. The help documentation is overly confusing and doesn't apply to my business. Get some help videos showing different use cases.
Thanks for taking the time to write your review. Regarding using Google Chrome for your tag filtering: If this is referring to the experience on your online store, then it's likely an issue with your theme or a third-party app preventing filters. The Search & Discovery app changes which filter types your store can display, but the interactive filters are completely owned by your theme. We've seen a number of cases where the theme is coded fine, but a third-party app causes different behaviour in different browsers. If this issue persists, we recommend contacting Shopify's Support to help you out. You could also try troubleshooting yourself by either disabling apps or changing themes to see which is at fault.

The app doesn't display out of stock items in complementary products. It should have an option for that.

Customer SUpport was friendly when i ask them following: "The Problem is thet when my Costumers choose for example the size XL in the Filtersection, it's also showing all the Products wich have the XL as a variant, even if the XL for the specific Product is sold out.... That makes absoluetely no sense to me... Is there any way to solve this? " The answer: "So Selina, it is currently expected behaviour that the size option will still show up in filters when the variant is out of stock. This is a current restriction when using the Search and Discovery app. You are welcome to try other apps for collection filtering, or alternatively, you can try out apps that hide sold out variants from the store." This App is absolutely useless without this feauture.... why even bothering to put such an app on the marketplace? It seems like Shopify makes their Apps not good enough just to myke us pay for paid Apps.... ??? Sorry, no othe way i can explain this to me. A proper filter function is crucial for allmost every shop.... Shopify still can't even add such a basic function that is working, but prices just went up. i am on Shopify for some years and i was expecting better... Also the URLs that the app i generating are very ugly: https://www.exampledomain.ch/collections/kleidung?filter.v.price.gte=&filter.v.price.lte=&filter.v.option.gr%C3%B6%C3%9Fe=XL&sort_by=created-descending
Hi there, apologies for the confusion as you can definitely filter out sold out variants. If you add the Availability filter to your store, which is a standard filter available to all shops, it will allow shoppers to filter out sold out variants when combined with your Size filter. I can see from the URL example you gave, the variant availability filter isn't being applied (filter.v.availability=1) More information about standard filters: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/search-and-discovery/filters#filter-types
