I installed SEOLab yesterday, and within hours, it caused significant, irreversible damage to my store. I have a store with over 750 product pages, 250+ blog articles, and 74 collection pages, and this app rewrote the meta titles and meta descriptions of approximately 50 of my most important pages permanently. There is no option to revert or restore the original data – once the app makes a change, it's gone forever. This is a critical design flaw for any store owner who has spent years optimizing their content. To make matters worse, the app also converted my JPEG and PNG product images to AVIF format without warning or confirmation. This has broken the thumbnails on most of my product pages, affecting the user experience and storefront appearance. I now have to manually fix hundreds of images. The credit-based system feels like a "loot" mechanism – you pay for credits, but the app doesn't deliver value. It seems the developer's strategy is to maximize installations (since they keep 20% of installs) rather than provide a reliable SEO tool. This app might work for a brand-new store with a few products, but for anyone with more than 100 products, pages, or articles, it is a disaster waiting to happen. I cannot recommend this app to any serious store owner, whether new or established. The risk of permanent data loss and image corruption far outweighs any potential SEO benefit.

We want to address your claims openly and honestly. Regarding meta titles and descriptions: SEOLab has a built in restore function that allows you to revert all changes at any time. The restore button is clearly visible within the app dashboard. Regarding image format: SEOLab does not convert images to AVIF format under any circumstances. Our image optimization only reduces the file size while keeping the exact same image quality and original file type completely unchanged. JPEG stays JPEG. PNG stays PNG. We would kindly suggest checking the AI image generation tool you are currently using on your website. As can be clearly seen on your own store, each product image shows an AI label at the bottom, which indicates your images are being generated and converted by an AI tool, not by SEOLab. SEOLab is completely free and is trusted by thousands of merchants including enterprise level Shopify Plus stores around the world. One star is too much. This program made a mess of all my products from the Shopify store. After that i spent 5 hours fixing all tags, descriptions, and titles . i do not recommend this program .

We found out they had stopped all features on our site, no notification, no warning just left us in the dark without telling us which could have impacted out business very negatively and they have so many issues with this app that never get fixed and they still did this, not happy beware

It says free, but they limit how much optimizing you can do then you have to beg them for more credits... if it's free.... why? And since I asked for more credits, now I cant even get on.... says Bad Gateway..... only app I have on Shopify doing that. So now half my site is optimized and the other half cant do. Guess I need to find a real app that doesn't say free and then makes you ask for more. I feel like Oliver... "Please sir, I'd like some more"... Bunch of crap if you ask me

Several merchants attempted to process extremely large product catalogs simultaneously, which triggered a very high volume of webhooks, leading to server overload and a brief service disruption of approximately one hour. Well, I wish I could say that this app was amazing and give it 5 stars but at this point it really just feels like a big scam. I hate to use the S word here but they only give you 50 quota to fix your alt text on your store that has thousands of images and the 50 they do give you I'm pretty sure didn't even do it and if it did do it it did it in the wrong spot I need them on product images not blog images that doesnt even have two images and then their messaging system won't let you send the name of your store for them to send you extra free quota. So yeah it just feels like a big scam thanks for Wasting my time

App is pretty good, however recently I'm being hindered being able to use it uninterrupted by agents prompting me to allow screen follow every 10 seconds with now option to turn this off altogether. PS I swear Frank if you make me lose any data with your constant prompts I am going to flip with you!

Misleading when says "free" then wants to charge after installing. Be up-front with your model. Don't expect something for nothing; just be clear. Also, the chat popup is obnoxious. Couldn't close it and didn't need it.

Worst app i have ever installed, too many problems, they constantly tell you the technicians are on it but been going on for months and now because i questioned them about issues and when will resolve them they have done something to the app on our store to cause more issues, stay away.

Went from a fully free solution to almost a fully paid app. And even with free option you might end up paying for something by mistake since they use a 100$ / month limit thant u can't lower and you will be billed by mistake

Takes forever to load. Didn't even open. I downloaded another app and that started working fine meanwhile this app was still loading.

Awful experience with this app. I sell furniture, and after installing it, I discovered weeks later that it had randomly added images of electronic products to my listings. This is completely unacceptable and could mislead customers. I removed the app immediately. Additionally, the features it offers are nothing special or particularly useful. Very disappointed—this app is not worth the hassle.
