We used Shippo for years and paid extra for their shipping insurance, expecting support if a package was ever lost. Unfortunately, when we finally needed to file a claim, the process became nearly impossible. They required things like a police report for a lost package, which makes no sense in many situations and feels designed to discourage claims rather than help customers. In our experience, the insurance felt almost useless because of how difficult they made the claim process. If a company sells insurance, customers should be able to reasonably use it when something goes wrong. On top of that, after removing the Shippo app from our Shopify store, we were still charged $29/month for two additional months. That was very frustrating and disappointing. The main reason we originally stayed with Shippo was for UPS Ground Saver rates, but Shopify now offers similar shipping options directly, so there is no longer a reason for us to continue using the platform. Based on our experience, I would not recommend Shippo. The insurance claim process was extremely difficult, and the continued billing after uninstalling the app made the experience even worse.
