Good App Functionality, But Support Responsiveness and Transparency Need Major Improvement for Long-Term Users The SimplyCost app itself provided good functionality for profit tracking. However, my experience with their customer support was extremely frustrating and lacked transparency, especially considering my long-term loyalty. I had been using this app since May 9, 2017, until I uninstalled it on June 28, 2025. This means I was a loyal user for over 8 years. Despite uninstalling, I was subsequently charged $5.34 (Bill #387820903) for the period covering June 10 - July 10, 2025. A SimplyCost representative had previously promised me on June 14, 2025, that if uninstallation didn't coincide with the billing period, they would refund the final month. I contacted SimplyCost directly multiple times (July 7, July 10, and via the App Store 'Get support' form on July 11) to request this promised refund, providing all necessary details. Despite these attempts, I received absolutely no response from SimplyCost. The issue was only resolved after I escalated it to Shopify Support. Shopify had to intervene and directly contact SimplyCost on my behalf. Only after Shopify's intervention did I finally receive an email from SimplyCost confirming the refund had been processed (on July 12, 2025). This communication was brief and contained no apology for the prior unresponsiveness or the hassle. While the refund was eventually processed, the lack of proactive support and the complete silence from the developer until Shopify stepped in is concerning, particularly for a long-standing user like myself. Users should be aware that resolving billing issues might require escalation.

Great app, one of our favs and something we have been using for years now! Much better way to manage costings for our business vs the standard shopify field.

Simply Cost is amazing. It has built-in "catches" and helpful tips that have enabled us to utilize so many of its wonderful features that I do not have time to take tutorials for. I am a small business and a one-person show so the tips help me see SC's capabilities. I inherited a bad system from previous manager and Shopify and Simply Cost have helped us find simple solutions to complex problems and with this dynamic duo, I have been able to get all inventory discrepancies lower and lower every year for the last 5 years. Simply Cost is our go-to for monthly inventory reports and for tracking profits as well as looking at sales data for improving ordering process, etc. And lastly, but of great importance, the customer service I have received from Simply Cost (talking to you too, Sam!!!) has been beyond stellar! In one inquiry, they resolved an issue of a "ghost in the machine" that I had been dealing with for 4 years that Shopify help had been unable to resolve and Sam at Simply Cost was able to fix from their end. Professional, responsive, and gave me a detailed explanation of how the system works on their end so I could easily understand and know that it was not something I was doing. Amazing!! Highly recommend Simply Cost without hesitation!

We have been using SimplyCost ‑ Profit Tracking for a number of years. We find it especially useful when we're doing our end of year inventory.

We have been using Simply Cost for 6 years now and still use it monthly for extensive reports that aren’t as accessible or comprehensive via Shopify. 10/10 recommend.

We use this app to track profitability on the days we send email promotions with a discounted product. Since in this app we can see not only sales, but actual profit on that day, it helps us compare our various promotions to see which ones are the most profitable (rather than just bring the most overall revenue). The app works great, and when I recently had an issue with some reporting getting messed up (not SimplyCost's fault, but it was affecting the reports there) they fixed it for me immediately. Highly recommended.

You guys really did an excellent job on this App. It's clear on where your problems are in my business. Analyzing expenses is so easy and thorough...makes "what-ifs" more logical, which makes my decision making much easier. Thanks!

The app is the best solution I found out there, it takes the Ad costs from Facebook! The integration of Google Ads and the more individual entering for fulfillment costs like pick per product would be nice! I will be sticking with this app, good job!

Excellent app! It's my "go to" dashboard and I use it multiple times daily. Let's me know how my business is REALLY doing. Once upon a time I gauged my business through Total Sales on Shopify Dashboard, then I got smarter and looked at Net Sales, and now I've even smarter and use SimplyCost to look at what really matters - Profit. It's a "must have" app!

Great app. I began using this app 2 years ago to track COGS. I continue to use this app because from an accounting perspective simplycost delivers more accurate/ user-friendly reports than shopify's reports. It also offers powerful yet simple business decision tools such as vendor profitability reports, product type profitability reports, and inventory snapshots. I also use the export sales orders feature monthly which provides detail on all sales. Overall, it's a must have app at this price that I'd highly recommend. ~ cutieschildrensboutique.com

Pretty simple but powerful. Does exactly what advertised - helps to track your costs and profits. There is even a bit simplified way to track overhead. Anyway, good up for a great price.

This app makes it really easy to see what your actual profit margins are. It’s simple to install and the reports are far better than what Shopify gives you. The “current inventory” value is also very useful for tracking overall inventory cost. Updating my review months later: EXTREMELY happy with this app, and the customer support has been top notch. App is priced really fairly too!

We love this app. We've been using it for a long time now and it's terrific. We can see our total stock on hand by cost and our margin. Plus we can get reports that show our profitability by supplier. There's more, I could go on and on. If you want reports based around your cost price then get this app. It is wonderful value for money.

It's fairly straight forward to use, and it does what it promises. For 5 dollars it offers a lot of value for money, I think that most apps overcharge you on Shopify, this one doesn't really.

A nice and comprehensive app to track your cost of goods and make reports on your profits, which is of course very useful. It does calculate the cost of goods automatically based on the prices you set BUT you can always input the cost of an order manually.

This app is so easy to use, and has helped us tremendously to track COGS. There are some features/reports I have yet to utilize, but so far it's doing exactly what I need it to. Very satisfied with this app.
