We migrated from the nightmare of WooCommerce and their pathetic Subscription plugin a couple of weeks ago. We actually moved the entire business to Shopify. It took one person about a week to migrate our subscription service (to design the subscription plans and product pages, migrate the data, and go through all the settings), which is pretty fast - and it was a lot easier and faster than WooCommerce, even though WC only has about 20% of the features of this app. Prior to deciding on a subscription app, I contacted PayWhirl and Recharge with some questions. PayWhirl never responded so they were dropped from the list. Recharge could only be contacted by chat and at odd times for us in the UK, so I gave up. Appstle were the only app to immediately contact us and set up a meeting to show us their app and go through all our questions. The only app prepared to do this so I knew they were confident enough in their product. We got a little stuck with migrating some subscriptions from Stripe but this was due to those customers having a payment method wrapped up in Stripe Link. We had to contact those customers individually to manually set up their subscriptions again. This was a pain but it's not Appstle's fault. It's Stripe and their Link payment method, and if Stripe hadn't made it impossible to transfer Stripe Link payments, Stripe would have kept the business, so Stripe rather shot themselves in the foot. We managed to literally tailor everything to our service with Appstle. The customer portal, e-mails, language and labels match our branding. It works with our multi-currency. We needed to add the widget to the quick buy feature on our website, which they did for us in about 2 minutes. We got a little confused with linking the customer portal on the app to customer accounts on Shopify, which they helped us with. As some people have said, it's a little daunting at first, but that's because there are a lot of features and you can tailor pretty much everything to your service. If you don't know, just ask them and it will get resolved quickly. But there are also a lot of tutorials, help and support. Take the time to go through everything - as I said, it took us a week to do absolutely everything, which is fast. We migrated our whole business to Shopify, and our subscriptions increased about 7% in the first week, without any marketing, which proves that Appstle is far easier for customers to use. But above all, I cannot fault the support. With WooCommerce, we used to get a standard response for every inquiry, which was "well it must be the fault of another plugin, turn everything off and back on". This drove me mad for about 6 years. In comparison, Appstle are online immediately, don't blame anyone else, they help you and actually resolve your inquiries there are then. A very welcome change. As a result, when we have built the subscription numbers a little, I'll be trying the top Enterprise plan. I actually think Appstle should charge a small commission on subscriptions because our interests are then aligned (ie maximizing revenue) and given their good support, which in turn helps increase our revenue, they would deserve the commission.
