I've never been more disappointed in an than this one. I paid $249.99 for 3-4 months. In total it generated $38 dollars net income. To help optimize & maximize the app, I emailed them and asked if they could help integrate with my store which is a Shopify (premium/high opportunity client) . they sent me a DIY..... super disappointed when I was excited to rewards my clients using their app. I asked for a refund 3x's. every time I got a chat bot. no customer service or person to speak to on the phone. they don't try to understand & connect with their customers. they just see us as a number.

Horrible customer support and sales team. After playing with the free version, we think Yotpo offers an expensive but good product. I emailed to request a demo to understand the features and pricing for Platinum Plan to handle a higher order volume. However, Yotpo have not responded my email in a week after reaching out initially. I can't imagine working with a team that does not interact with their customers.

Onboarding process is never-ending. "dedicated customer success manager" is a scam, she is not available and does not know the system well enough to assist. Support is not supportive at all and the overall attitude feels like somebody's doing a favour and not like a service for an app that costs a fortune. Very disappointed.

I wasted more than 8 hours of my life trying to get this to work only to give up and try something else. In the end, I realized that the only way to make this integrate in a way that isn't horrible, is to have the premium plan. The gold is $249/mo... and when I asked sales what the premium plan cost I never got a response. If you are an enterprise brand with a developer team, I'm sure Yotpo works great. All the big brands use it. If you are a website team of 1... stay far far away.

The onboarding process is very poorly designed. This seems to be a very new software. I expected more from Yopto

This app is the worst. We use the free version. If the free version is not good, why would I want to upgrade??? The 'triggered' emails to customers are impossible to edit. When you click 'save' changes, the page just loads for forever. It never works. Customers complain all the time about the interface. Customers complain about not knowing where the code is. Customers want to unsubscribe from emails. It's a mess. I've talked to Rogello at support and he is just plain and simple incompetent. I never receive a support ticket email. Nothing gets fixed. He says I should "try a different browser and computer". I did and experience the same problems. What they need is for Yotpo to actually get involved with their expertise and improve this product, support from top to bottom. WASTE OF MY TIME.

It's like pulling teeth trying to understand pricing and features. Going with a different reward app.

The ONLY way to get a coded rewards page for your customers to check their rewards balance is to pay $249 PER MONTH for a gold plan. Highly unrealistic for new shops starting out as well as ones that aren't. $249 PER MONTH - yes, $249. To say I'm astounded is an understatement. Otherwise, you have to hire a dev to develop a rewards page for you.

I have submitted 2 tickets and have waited over 5 days to hear back from you with no effort to assist me. I have been using the free version for over a year and while editing my settings I accidentally upgraded to the $29 paid version I noticed within the hour and downgraded back to the free version. However on my next shopify bill I noticed I was charged the $29 MONTHLY fee even though I was upgraded for less than an hour. I have asked multiple times to offer a refund and no one has gotten back to me. Pretty poor customer service.

This is my first time working with any rewards app and this is still the worst experience I've had. None of the fields, even to submit a ticket, are clickable. I click on them and nothing happens. I type and nothing happens. I can't change the coupon rewards for referrals OR newsletter pop-ups. Creating new coupons to be redeemed upon completing a campaign has the same problem. NONE OF YOUR FIELDS OF TEXT ARE EDITABLE. NOTHING IS FOUND IN GOOGLE WHEN I SEARCH FOR HELP. I CAN'T EVEN SUBMIT A HELP TICKET. This is the worst experience I've ever had with an app. If I could rate it zero stars I would happily.

Since Yotpo took over Swell has fallen apart with huge holes in the sales data. Not a good way to build trust with customers when their sales are not all registering in the loyalty program. After more than two months, and countless emails and excuses, the same problems persist. I am forced to pull the plug on Swell/Yotpo and face my unhappy customers. Stay away from this app!

2023 - It has been pretty easy to add this new reward program to our website - once it is set up it doesn't require much work from us. We like it ! :-) 7/16/25 UPDATE - The app has gone from amazingly simple to everything wrong with it! Nothing works at all! The back end says "$25 free when you redeem 500 points" The front end says "$100 free when you redeem 500 points" AND "$10 free when you spend 100 points" This doesn't exist at all in the back end! When you try to contact support they say that they want you to spend $1,000s, yes you read that right - THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to have the app work?? Like what??? The app should work no matter what! I do not believe that even if you paid the app would work as there is a MAJOR disconnect between the back end and the front end. The code just doesn't sync with the system. I believe they are experiencing a major tech issue and don't have the support to fix the bug. Customers are constantly emailing me saying the loyalty program does not work and things are grayed out when they have the points to redeem them! It's a nightmare! I regret setting it up with them. I will be switching providers as this app not only does not work but there is 0 effort to fix the problems and I have been emailing them for months begging for a fix. I would upload screen shots of the issues and communication if I could. Negative stars in my book. Total waste of time!

Hi, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. We want to provide some clarity on the situation. In August 2024, we discontinued the unpaid Bronze package and transitioned customers either to our free tier or offered an upgrade to the Gold package. In our communications at that time, sent via email and in-product, we did note that the free package would have some reduced functionality compared to Bronze. We understand that this might have caused some inconvenience, and we apologize if the prior notifications didn’t reach you as intended. At this stage, while we’re not able to offer an alternative solution beyond our existing tiers, we would be happy to discuss how the Gold package might better serve your needs if you’re interested. Please let us know if you’d like to arrange a time to talk further.

The app isn't rendering icons correctly since we launched it, the "refer a friend" option doesn't even show up. we have been reaching out to support to no avail, and are extremely disappointed in the service. We upgraded, thinking that the free version was glitchy on purpose, because we had launched it via our newsletter (because it initially appeared to be working correctly), and were worried about our customers experience. We want a refund for the upgrade and to discontinue using this app. Shopify should not be encouraging faulty plug-ins/apps to their customers. We have spend a lot of time setting up to no success, and it's very upsetting that there is NO SUPPORT!

I had to cancel my subscription for Swell before even launching the app due solely to the lack of customer service from Swell, which was recently acquired by Yotpo. After many hours configuring the app on my own, I contacted support with three final (and uncomplicated) questions. After more than two weeks, two additional follow-up e-mails to support, and additional e-mails to a sales rep, I have still not received a single response from Swell's support team. Even worse, the sales rep suggested that I pay more to receive better service on the premium enterprise plan. I paid approximately $300/month for the gold plan, which is the highest self-service tier. I also investigated Yotpo, as I was looking for a product review app to integrate with Swell rewards. After following up multiple times with a sales rep for help and information, I was quoted about $8K/year. It would be absurd to pay this company anything, let alone $11K+/year, for this level of service. There are plenty of other options for both rewards and review apps.

The potential for this app looked amazing. But the support for installation and setup is non-existing. The campaigns we have created are not showing the pop-up. I wrote to ask Swell for support but just got a screen shot back saying everthings looks okay - even though in the screen shot the campains for reward is not the same as the ones I have created. I have started a support chat but seems there are no real persons there - just an email saying we have created a ticket for you. and then no reply to that for days. Hope the installation issues will be solved and the app proves to do some of the fancy stuff they so highly claim they can do.

FELLOW SHOPIFY PLUS MERCHANTS BE WARNED! We signed with Swell in early May on their premier Platinum plan. Overall we have had a very negative experience and have repeatedly found bugs in their platform that have had negative financial ramifications for us. One of the main things that attracted us to Swell was the more customized program design they offered. This process was OK although small delays did sneak in when we needed to pick up on relatively small (but important!) design elements. Overall the our impression was a 'good enough' approach, which to us seemed counter to the stated aim of driving as much traffic as possible to the rewards page. Their developers also struggled with Shopify theme code management outside of Shopify (we use Github). The soft launch of our program was late July. Soon after launch we found a couple of serious bugs in their platform that has significantly dented our confidence in it’s reliability. One issue (awarding points for the purchase of gift cards and purchases using gift cards) was promptly resolved. However we have been waiting more than three months for the resolution of a bug affecting the treatment of refunds. We also complained about the slow speed to load a customer’s point balance but was told this was expected behavior. The Swell team have been slow to respond to emails. I am still waiting for a response to an email I sent 9 days ago to our dedicated ‘Client Success Manager’ for example.

Unbelievably, the pricing structure is programmed to include Point-of-Sale sales when determining your tier. So not only is Swell structuring what they charge you based on orders that they have absolutely nothing to do with whatsoever (offline sales), but they then want to claim a surcharge per sale for each of those offline sales when your total net number of sales exceeds a certain number (depending on your tier, its 200 for the $29/month plan). As though they deserve payment for your offline sales. Utterly absurd. Swell should be ashamed of themselves. There's plenty of competition in this space to avoid this underhanded approach, even if doing so purely on principle. I believe this is the first negative review I've taken the time to write about any app.

The support is absolutely not responsive. The app is buggy, the setting is not user-friendly. 1. Follow @ Instagram can be completed multiple times. I have many buyers just earn many points and just get rewards with the points, which cause a loss in business. The support never get back to me although 3 days passed, I have to manually adjust the points for all the customers 2. Refer a friend doesn't work although "fraud prevention" has been disabled.
