While installing the app, you will see a dropdown that allows you to choose the theme you want to enable the app on and we make sure that we do not touch any other themes. Hence there is no way the app will get enabled on an old theme unless it is selected. We have also taken extra care to make sure that our app is compatible with all Shopify themes so that it does not break the store in any way. We tried reaching out to you, to see if we can set up the app for you in a way that it is most suitable for the theme you are using however we did not hear back from you.
