Fraud Alert: This App Created Fake COD Orders to Force Paid Upgrade — Extremely Dangerous Review: I am writing this review to warn all Shopify store owners. I recently discovered that this app was responsible for placing fake Cash on Delivery (COD) orders on my store — hundreds of them per day — with the clear intention of creating panic and pushing me into upgrading to their paid plan. Here’s exactly what happened: 1. Hundreds of Fake Orders Daily Within 3 days, more than 180+ fake orders per day started appearing. Every order had: A different name A different phone number But the same set of 200–300 repeated addresses Shopify showed the same pattern every time: “This is their 1st order” Direct session to store Checkout completed instantly This clearly proved the activity was bot-generated, not real visitors. 2. Fake Orders Bypassed COD Form I even installed a COD Form app and removed the Add to Cart button, so customers could only place orders through the COD Form. But these fake orders were bypassing the form completely, which means: No human customer was placing the order No real checkout path was being used The bot had direct access to the checkout endpoint Checkout was happening without using my store UI This is only possible if the app had access to my checkout API or store permissions. 3. App Was Pushing Hard for Paid Plan During these days, the same app started sending constant notifications and banners urging me to upgrade because of “high activity” and “risk”. Now it’s very clear — They were creating the fake orders themselves to force me to pay for their premium plan. This is a classic dark-pattern scam. 4. Shopify Support Verified It's Not Natural Traffic Shopify support confirmed that: No real traffic source existed No campaign was sending users Checkouts were direct and automated This further proved this was internal app-generated activity, not real customers. 5. Massive Business Damage Because of this app’s fraudulent behavior: My real orders got mixed with fake ones Fulfillment team was confused Store analytics got polluted I wasted days trying to block numbers, IPs, and addresses Customer trust and productivity were affected No legitimate Shopify app should ever have the ability or the audacity to intentionally harm a merchant. Final Verdict: DO NOT INSTALL THIS APP This app is extremely dangerous and should never be installed. It appears to intentionally generate: Fake COD orders Automated bots Checkout spam Just to scare merchants into paying for their “premium protection.” This is unethical, unprofessional, and possibly illegal activity. Recommendation to Shopify I strongly request Shopify to: Investigate this app immediately Audit their API usage and checkout access Remove or suspend the app for fraudulent behavior Protect merchants from this type of exploitation If you are a merchant reading this: Please avoid this app at all costs. It will waste your time, money, and destroy your COD workflow. Title: Extremely Concerning Behavior – App Triggered Hundreds of Fake Orders & Pressured Me for Paid Plan I want to share an extremely alarming experience regarding this app and its representatives. This is not a normal technical issue — this looks like intentional manipulation designed to force merchants into paid plans. 1. Continuous Pressure to Buy Paid Plans Right after installing the app, I started receiving repeated calls and WhatsApp messages from the developer’s representatives. They kept aggressively pushing me to upgrade to paid plans (USD $70+ packages). These are the numbers they used to contact me: +92 333 3888200 +1 (346) 471-9190 051-8844133 No legitimate Shopify app behaves like this. No Shopify developer should contact merchants repeatedly and aggressively for upgrades. 2. Fake Orders Started the Same Day I Refused the Paid Plans The moment I declined the paid plan upsell, my store began receiving 150–200 fake Cash on Delivery orders EVERY SINGLE DAY. These fake orders had a very specific pattern: Every one showed: “1st session was direct to your store” Pixel never tracked them Names and phone numbers changed every time Addresses were reused from a fixed pool (around 200–300 repeated addresses) No real customer behavior existed behind them It was clearly automated activity that Shopify’s traffic source could not detect — something only an app running on the store could do. 3. After I Confronted the Representative, Fake Orders Suddenly Stopped I sent the representative multiple WhatsApp voice messages confronting them about these fake orders and their timing. Right after that: They completely stopped replying. Stopped calling. And ALL the fake orders instantly stopped that same moment. This timing is too specific to be a coincidence. 4. Why I Believe This Is Not Just a Bug Fake orders only appeared after refusing paid plans They continued daily in large volumes No other app was installed that could create orders The moment I confronted the representative, all activity stopped The pressure to take paid plans matches the behavior The type of fake orders created (direct checkout, address reuse, mobile randomization) is not something random bots typically do — this requires access to store backend or app permissions 5. This Behavior Is a Serious Risk for Merchants Flooding a store with hundreds of fake orders: Damages analytics Wastes time & resources Destroys conversion data Interferes with Facebook Pixel Creates operational chaos Intentionally stresses the merchant until they pay the developer I am posting this review publicly so that other merchants are aware and can protect their stores. REQUEST TO SHOPIFY SUPPORT I strongly request Shopify to: Investigate this app deeply Audit order-generating behavior Review communication done by their representatives Verify whether merchant data was misused to trigger fake orders Check logs around the time frame when the pressured sales calls were happening Such behavior, if confirmed, is extremely damaging to the Shopify ecosystem and merchant trust. CONCLUSION I am writing this review so other merchants can stay safe. The pattern of pressure + fake orders + instant stop after confrontation is extremely concerning and cannot be ignored.
Our Free Plan includes 50 messages, and if the limit is exceeded, the service simply stops, and a notification appears in the app dashboard - we never force or push any merchant to upgrade. We also do not pressure clients to purchase any plan through calls or messages; this is not our practice. After checking our logs, your store installed the app and uninstalled it within 10 minutes, making the issues described technically impossible to occur during that time. You explained that you faced and troubleshooted the issue the whole day, but you added a review right after 34 minutes of using the app. It appears there may be a misunderstanding, and the situation might be mixed up with another app. We attempted to contact you, but did not receive any response. We are happy to assist you and resolve any concerns!

Worst experience ever. not recommending to anyone, they charge you extra than usage and after shopify bill generation you cant do anything. I've used their 3 apps for 1 month out of which only 10 days app works fine, they don't have any customer support neither any reasonable answer other than ''we will reach you tomorrow morning'' and that morning never comes. they send you a review template at the day of installation and ask you to post their created review on their apps with 5 Stars. There are so many things they do other than fulfil your requirements. Very Disappointed .
Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased to know that Whatomation’s automation and support have been valuable for your store’s customer engagement.

Not recommended – this solution relies on an unofficial API, and the associated number is frequently blocked by Meta. Therefore, it is not suitable for sending WhatsApp order notifications.
We understand your frustration. We recommend trying our app Texnity, which allows you to send order confirmations and marketing messages safely and effectively. Our team will be happy to guide you through the setup and help you explore the best options for your store.
