I guess it mostly does what it is supposed to do. But it's so close to being great. I hope it has analytics, a unique identifier in each instance so we can analyze and manage the performance of each buy button, a more nuanced product variants selector, more formatting options....etc....etc....
Thanks for sharing this feedback. Our teams are always working hard to improve the functionality and features on our apps, so I appreciate you sharing these suggestions. I'd like to pass on your comments about the analytics, unique identifier, product variant selector, and formatting options to our teams. However, in the meantime, I did want to mention that we do currently offer the ability to add variants to buy buttons by following these steps: http://bit.ly/2LXt1KI. Additionally, we also have the option to create these button customizations: https://bit.ly/2LrWoVS. I'll send you a follow up email to discuss this further and log your feedback on our end. Thanks again! - Rae, Shopify Support

This app is great for use when you already have a website designed and just need to add buttons as a back end to allow the customer to checkout. The problem I ran into is that on any page of my website that doesn't have a buy button (like the home page for example and many others) then shoppers don't see the shopping cart. They have to navigate back to a page that has a buy button in order to check out, even if they've already added items to their cart. I called shopify about this issue twice looking for a solution or even a way to get the code for the shopping cart, so I can add it to a shopping cart button on the menu bar but they said that wasn't possible. Great app but has issues working seamlessly with my websites design, because it doesn't have a shopping cart button like paypal does.
Thank you for sharing this feedback with us! Without the insight from merchants using our Shopify developed apps, we wouldn't be able to continue developing what we offer. This set up with the Buy Button is a current limitation due to the nature of connecting your checkout to a third party website. That being said, we’re always working to improve the way our apps work, so I’ve followed up with you via email to share your experience with our development team. -Lizzy, Shopify Support

I thought the buy button was a great way to direct customers to a product without having the product directly visible on my storefront. That being said, the product that I was offering a buy button for required additional details, like custom engraving, and I would have preferred the buy button carried those through as well. It may be out my scope if it is capable of that but for now I'm not aware.

It’s really helpful and integrates pretty well with wix, though many features are missing from a true Shopify site. We cant add a cart as each individual code goes in its own HTML box, and we can’t sort the products as each product and code is individual. More integration with other companies would help
Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback with us. While you're right that the Buy Button doesn't create the same cart features as are available on a Shopify store, there are some options. Depending on the exact set up you'd like to achieve, you may be able to use Collections with the Buy Button (http://bit.ly/2mIfRIL) or Checkout Links (http://bit.ly/2pfEQnI)! I’ve also reached out to you via email so we can chat further and I can share your thoughts with our development team. Hope to hear from you soon! -Lizzy, Shopify Support

I am using this to show my products on a custom Wordpress site I built. The core functionality is solid, although there are 2 things I would add. 1. The ability to redirect to Checkout in the same tab. (I had to mess with the code of the buy button for a while too figure this one out. I was able to accomplish it but it would be much nicer if it was an option like in the sidebar when creating the buy button) 2. Since I do not have an actual strorefront on Shopify (I own my own domain) when users are redirected to checkout the url changes to my shopify store url. I would rather have the url stay the same because if someone inputs the shopify store url into their browser they will get the blank default theme. If I switch to the Shopify Lite plan then I loose some of Shopify's functionality and plugin ability (Most notably Kit)
Thanks for leaving a review. Your feedback is valuable for app development. I see that you've reached out to us regarding this, and a member of our Support Team suggested a workaround - have you tried this already? Nevertheless, I've gone ahead and sent you an email to follow up to see if there's anything I can do to support you with those steps. Hope to hear from you soon! - Ryder, Shopify Support

Overall its handy to launch products to select customers rather then having to post live, However I don't like that they can't see any product info, its just straight to cart and one tiny little picture.
Thank you for writing your review and for providing feedback on what you'd like to see added to the Buy Button's functionality. I can see why having additional product information included would be helpful and I will be passing your suggestion onto our development team for their consideration. Merchant feedback is a key component when it comes to deciding how we can improve the apps and features we offer, so thank you again for taking the time to provide us with this feedback. -Victor, Shopify Support

Decent app overall. Seems to function well enough. The new ability to access from the product page is nice. However, I find its use limited for my business as I can not create a checkout link with multiple different items. It's rare that my customers purchase single items so being able to curate a custom basket of items would be very helpful.
Thank you for sharing this feedback with us! If you know customers would like to purchase certain items together, we do have the option to create a Buy Button for collections (http://bit.ly/2mIfRIL). If you have customers that are reaching out directly as well, Draft Orders could be a good solution for creating custom carts! This page here talks about those (http://bit.ly/2mQFk2r). I've also followed up with you via email to log your feedback for our development team, so that we can continue to improve Shopify and our apps. Thanks again! -Lizzy, Shopify Support

We wanted to use the Buy Now button on our existing WordPress site. It worked, but it didn't provide any flexibility or customization. So we had to upgrade to a Shopify-hosted product page to achieve the results we wanted for our store.

Button works well but integration with PayPal Express Checkout is not working well. It takes 5+ seconds for this to load. Tested in multiple browsers and multiple locations and the same issue. When reported to Shopify I was told it was a PayPal issue which it might be but you need to get it resolved as its impacting all those that use this!

It works but could be FAR better and needs altering to even suffice. Sadly uses iframes (what decade is this?) so it can't match your site's styling and fonts. The script you add is very cluttered, inefficient coding. And to be able to access the cart from non-product pages you need to still have to load a product but hide the iframe. Very surprised this is an official script and not a 3rd party hack. Also, as others mentioned, the checkout pop up is WAY TO SMALL and confusing for customers. And it is an actual new window, not a lightbox or div. Seriously, what decade is this? Why are developers still using iframes and pop windows? That stuff has been dead and obsolete for 15 years now.

I use the buy button on various pages on my website. I like the ease of creating the buy button and pasting the code into the HTML form. I don't like that it doesn't integrate with my shops cart though. So if someone adds something with the buy button and they leave the page to a different page, they can't see what they added to the cart and they can't add items to the same cart on different pages.
Hey there, thanks for taking the time to share this feedback! I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with the add to cart workflow with the Buy Button. Items that customers add to the cart from a Buy Button should be saved if you choose the "Adds product to cart" action option when creating the Buy Button. If this doesn't work properly, it might be an issue with your theme, so I’ve followed up with you via email so we can investigate this further and log any issues with our development team. I hope to hear back from you soon! - Lauren, Shopify Support

This was the main feature I needed at Shopify since I already promote my products through separate established websites. The embed codes for the buy buttons work okay if I install them in widgets within Wordpress but when I try to install these same codes anywhere on my normal website pages, the buy buttons for some reason always appear at the bottom of the webpages even if I install the html codes near the top of each page. So I'm unable to use the actual buy buttons. However, the code for direct buy links work okay and these are what I'm using on my normal webpages. So overall the system works as far as facilitating the sale but for my websites, it's the buy links being used rather than the buy button graphics.
Thank you for sharing this feedback! I can understand why having the Buy Buttons appear at the bottom of your site would be frustrating! If the embed code is being added to a third-party site such as Wordpress, this is likely an issue with the way the Wordpress code functions, and not the Buy Button itself. That said, I’ve reached out to you via email so we can look into this further. I hope to hear from you soon! - Lauren, Shopify Support

The buy button isn't integrating on my site. But if I go through the "buy button" and instead choose a link, I can put the link on my site and it's working fine. So, great on being able to get people from my home site to store. But negative on the fact the buy button itself isn't working.
Hello TheHousewifeModern, firstly, thank you for sharing this feedback with us. We’re always looking to improve apps with feedback like this, and we are working to improve the way our apps work with stores and what they can offer merchants such as yourself. I'm going to follow up with an email to help you out with this buy button. Based on what you have said here, you should be able to get this button to work as expected and I'd like to help you to do that. You'll hear from me soon by email, thank you! Niall, Shopify Support

We started using the Buy Button because we already had a site designed when we switched over to Shopify and didn't have the experience to code Shopify pages to look the way we already had our product pages looking. Unfortunately after months of using this set up we realized Google Analytics wasn't tracking conversions. We had to rearrange things and have people buy on the Shopify store product pages for Google to track the sale. So while they were nice, we don't actually use the Buy Buttons any more. And we got very good at Shopify customization.
Hello Safe Ride 4 Kids, thank you for sharing this feedback! This is a currently a limitation of the buy button, and you are correct, Google Analytics will unfortunately not track these kind of conversions from the buy button. I am glad to hear that this experience has lead to you developing an expertise in customisation, it's a good silver lining. We’re always looking to improve apps with feedback, and we are working to improve the way our apps work with stores and what they can offer merchants. So I will be emailing you as well to ask you if you have anymore feedback to log and if so, I'll be a point of contact for you there. Thank you! Niall, Shopify Support

If you stay on the Shopify platform this is a GREAT feature. I don't stay on the platform. I have a standalone website that can easily display the contents of my collections via Buy Button code that I paste into that website BUT it only takes the basic information. We sell personalized products now and this is an absolute non-starter at this point. None of the personalization capture fields we have in our Shopify store come across so it's just another listing that you can't modify on the off-platform website so why bother... This issue comes up because suggested modifications for product templates are accomplished using "liquid" code but, unfortunately, that can only be read by Shopify, not our website provider. I'm now struggling to find a developer who can do a very complex task of working with Shopify's API to move that data across. I realize this is a free "app" but, really Shopify. This doesn't do what it's advertised to do. It says you can display your products on any website, blog, etc. NO YOU CANNOT. Not if they contain anything more than basic listing information and normal variants. Disappointed to say the least.
Hey there, thanks for taking the time to share this feedback about the Buy Button! I can certainly understand why this limitation would be frustrating, especially considering you're selling personalized products. When embedded on a third-party website, the Buy Button acts as a connecting tool to the Shopify checkout, and isn't ideal if you need to add additional fields for the product beyond basic listing and variant info. That said, we're always looking into ways we can improve our apps! I’ve followed up with you via email to log your feedback for our development team - Lauren, Shopify Support

The buy button is a great option for those who want to use shopify on their own website but i wish I was able to integrate it more into a store-like setting with having to pay for 2 sites. I am working with the shopify Customer Service team to make this work exactly the way I would like,

I use the buy button to sell within my Blog articles. He's great at it. It would be much better if the "Basic" template could be aligned inside the article, but it only aligns on the left side of the blog ... And the "enhanced" template looks great, but does not look aesthetically good with a measurement table for clothing.

I love the idea of Shopify but the fees are too high! ;o( I'd love to be your customer, b/c I think it is an excellent app.

This is a great alternative for the $29 plan. You can use it on a free website service like six or weebly! The only reason I gave it 3 stars is that it doesn't have as much customizable features using html and css.
