I use this app can lat our customers quickly solve the problem of the language barriers, as well as the exchange rate of different countries

The fact you can only have the currency selector in the FOOTER, a tiny little grey box that blends in with the footer that absolutely NO ONE can see is ridiculous! Add a button to the header that shows a flag or makes it easy to see, Literally NO ONE can find the currency selector! How does a company this massive make something so completely terrible

this is one of the most important apps in my shop because I sell to soo many different countries but in the same time this is the app that I hate the most. there is 0% customization, not even WORDS TRANSLATION !!!!!! Shopify should update this app ASAP as it was not even Touched for the last couple of years specially that this app is used the most by Advanced Plan Customers because they use international Pricing and Multi language the most.

If I could give zero stars I would, BEWARE of this app!!! Somehow this was installed in our store, (Shopify still looking into how & wait for a response) We have had inventory issues and weird things happening to our platform not mention sales channel getting turned off and being hacked. Not sure if all related. Have since deleted the app.

I have been working with Shopify for several years and with several shops. I hate to leave this bad review but I noticed that the support people do not want to clarify on how this Geolocation app works. They do not answer with a straight forward answer but they try to avoid giving a clear answer and instead give a polite cryptic answer which can mean anything. They say it 'recommends' the currency and the language for visitors of my site. But they are not willing to say if the geolocation app also actually translates into these chosen languages or not and if one needs a third party app for this or not and which one? They also do not have a step by step manual or tutorial on 1 page, explaining how to install all the languages, if this is needed. Plus the apps Transcy, Langify and T Lab also do not have these tutorials and are not willing to explain ( or hide behind the fact they cannot say ) how the Shopify geolocation app works. Since a year or so I am very much disappointed working with Shopify. One does not get a dedicated support person. They change with every email one writes. Which is very upsetting. It is like going to your favorite café or pub and the waiters change every day. No loyalty, no trust. I now run four shops with Shopify and ever since I purchased gift cards a few months ago from Shopify Plus, it went wrong. Very disappointed... They seem not to care anymore.

stay away from shopify's thing and their apps!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1. they sell themes incompatible with their native features (those themes selling in official theme store) and the support reject to do ANY kinds of follow-up; 2. this geolocation app has a lot of flaws - it doesn't detect customer's location and did not save customer's preference. Now I am hoping there is a better competitor to Shopify. *Crying*

We are forced to use this app if we want to change prices for other countries, and the only way price actually shows correctly to the customer is if we add an ugly, uneditable pop-up to our store for all traffic (even if the new market is just 5% of our traffic) Please allow us to enable/disable the pop-up by country. Or just default to the correct prices if you know where the IP is located. Such a poorly developed app
Hi there, thanks for your feedback. This app is just one of many options you can use to show your customers the correct currency! There are many other options here and we definitely don't intend to force you to use this app: https://apps.shopify.com/collections/works-with-shopify-markets Changing currency based on IP address goes against Google's guidelines and can cause SEO problems for your store, which is why we do not do this. If you want to show your customers the correct currency automatically, you can have different subfolders for each country and redirect your customers to the right subfolder automatically: https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/markets/international-domains/directing-customers/domain-redirection I hope this helps!

Hmm. So within shopify settings you set which countries you ship to. The issue with geolocation app is that it doesnt integrate with those settings. this means that customers located in countries that you do not ship to will see the geolcation selector pop up (when enabled) that says "we ship to your country" when in fact the merchant does not. The customer will only find out that you do not once they waste their time and proceed to checkout to then have the shopify settings inform them that you do not ship to their location. Then you get angry customer support requests asking "why say you do when you dont". It seems logical that the geolocation app should consider your shopify shipping settings relating to shipping locations before it shows information to the customer. This seems like a half cooked solution.
Geolocation will only ever show the popup for countries that you ship to. If this isn't happening to you please contact us and we can help you sort this out.

Not a very good app, especially since Shopify have developed it. I was expecting the translation feature to translate everything on my site but it only trnaslated the text that is provided by Shopify and not what is entered and customised. Also more customisation would have been great, the ability to have a floating button or positioning in the header.
Hi there, sorry for any confusion you experienced. It is true that the Geolocation app does not translate your content for you - it will allow your customers to switch between the languages that you offer. To translate your content you should use a separate app: https://apps.shopify.com/collections/apps-for-store-languages

Did not work, tried with VPN and prices stayed the same. I don't want a full size uncustomizable ugly pop up, and I want to be able to add selector to header. Customers shouldn't have to scroll to bottom to change currency. Not good enough.

This should be a very good, simple and functional app but in common with several other reviewers the fact that you cannot customise the pop-up text drives us mad. It cannot be that difficult to do. We are trialling the Markets feature which is a big Shopify initiative and screams out the need to support simple, intuitive country selection. We are UK-based with a US warehouse but the popup text says "ships to US". Our own customers are saying this is off-putting as it logically implies we are not in the US (meaning potentially higher shipping costs or delivery times). All we need is the ability to state "looks like you're in the US" and a button saying "stay here" or "yes please". Many other reviewers make the same point. We've raised this with Shopify Support, to no avail. It's such a shame. Come on guys, finish the app!

The pop-up form and the embedded currency selector look nice (the best among every other used app), BUT it is generally useless, as the pop-up do not provide the option to link to the correct webpage. And on top of that - the currency selector allows to change the country, but the prices stay on the same currency, which beats the whole purpose.
Hi there, it definitely sounds like something isn't going right here - the specific purpose of Geolocation is to do exactly what you are saying, so long as you are using Shopify Payments. Please get in touch with us and we'd be happy to help.

The application is very good, but it has a problem that I can't solve, which would be to change the word "Buy Now" from the button to Another word, since viewing the behavior of the customer, it was noticed that some give up on the site because they understand that if they click on the "Buy Now" button, the product will be added to the cart, or the payment process will start, I would like to know if there is any way to adjust this problem?
Hi there, this is something we are working on and hope to provide this year!

I am currently using the app and i see a huge potential for being able to sell and market internationally. It was a great option for me at this time

Not customizable. Didn't work properly for me (and I didn't know I was losing potential customers because it wouldn't convert in their local currencies like expected), I had to chat with Shopify Support for 2 days as they were trying to guess what the issue was. At the end, I was told that it was probably because my store theme was not from the default ones of Shopify, and it wouldn't work with it. Really disappointed to be honest. Lost a lot of time for nothing.

Ask before adding something on the whole screen. Not even notified about this app. Randomly find out what is this

Works fine for us, but there is no ability to customise the text. "Ship" is an American term - in the UK we say "deliver". Why can't we change that in the app?

This app doesn’t make sense in the way it functions, which is unfortunate as we like the looks of it. We had hoped to find an app that could help us redirect visitors from our .com store to our local versions when applicable. The problem though is that the popup shows up regardless of if the customers visit the main URL or the local URL directly! Example A: Swedish customer visits our .com (English language) store. The popup shows up and suggests him to switch to our Swedish language version (.com/sv URL). This makes sense and is good for when a potential customer for instance clicks the link to our .com store in our Instagram bio. Example B: Swedish customer clicks our Swedish Facebook ad where we use our Swedish store (.com/sv URL) as landing page. The popup shows up and suggests him to switch to our Swedish language version (.com/sv URL), which is the same URL as the customer is already visiting! This is an unnecessary step that fills no other function than to bother the potential customer with a popup banner and then reload the same URL if they agree to “switch” to Swedish. How the app behaves in Example B doesn’t make any sense! It’s like if Amazon.com would show a popup for all American visitors and recommend them to switch to English language!
Hi there, Geolocation should only ever make a recommendation when the language or location is different to what the customer is visiting. If your Swedish customers are landing on audeor.com/sv, a recommendation will still pop up prompting them to switch to Swedish Krona, as your site's default is Euros. If your customers are viewing in Krona and Swedish language, and still getting a recommendation, please reach out to us and we will fix this for you!
