Deceptive pricing, poor customer service and outdated tech. LeadDyno's pricing is overly complex, arbitrarily tiered and based on too many things. We recently found out that we're subject to insane overage fees (0.05 / visitor) based on the number of monthly unique website visitors. This is NOT stated in the pricing tiers when viewing LeadDyno in the Shopify App Store. Billing and overages are only accessible by logging in to the LeadDyno dashboard and going to Account > Plan & Payments. Only then could we see that we would be charged hundreds of dollars in overage fees. Rather than simply auto-update our pricing plan (which would've been a much smaller cost than overage fees) or actively reach out during our billing cycle to help us avoid surprise fees, LeadDyno charges merchants ridiculous fees and attempts to hide it from store owners. I reached out to LeadDyno support, asking for a refund of the excessive fees and hoping to upgrade our plan (pay them more long term!). Given we've been a customer for years, I was hoping they'd help us solve this and stay a long term partner. Instead customer service was unapologetic and only offered us a credit towards our first month if we upgraded to an annual Unlimited plan. This is their most expensive plan which would've been overkill for our store and required a large upfront payment that we can't afford at the moment. I would NOT recommend LeadDyno to anyone. The tech is poorly built, the design is outdated, the customer service sucks and most of all, the pricing model is deceptive + not designed to be friendly to the majority of ecommerce merchants who experience strong seasonality.

The overage fees on legacy plans can definitely be frustrating, and we’ve been working hard to make things more fair and clearer with our new plans since January 2024. I worked with Leaddyno from 2015 through early 2023 and honestly, it has been a nightmare the entire time. It's difficult to articulate all of the reasons why, but I'll give a brief overview. Leaddyno will charge you according to how much traffic comes to your site, regardless of how much is driven by affiliates (unfair). It is impossible to tell how many sales came through affiliates, vs overall sales. There is no connection to affiliate marketplaces where potential affiliates can find you. And now, despite having cancelled my subscription in March, I found out that the app has been erroneously billing me $49 per month for an "uninstalled" version. I almost never have this level of disdain for a company, but Leaddyno has truly let me down at every turn. Mind boggling that they are still in business.

I had a $49/mo subscription on autopay and they started charging my card for $149 without my authorization for 10 months until I discovered the discrepancy in my bank account. When I reported it to them, they refused to refund the difference in charges. I gave them several chances to make it right and they continued to refuse, so now I am stuck having to report them to Shopify and contest the unauthorized charges with my bank. Leaddyno's reply is that they sent an email informing of the increase. If they did, that is not good enough. The basic fact is that I did not authorize the tripling of the monthly charges. I had stopped using their service long before this happened, as it was not meeting my needs, and if I had seen an email, it would have only reminded me that I was paying unnecessarily for a service I don't use. They could have stopped providing service if they were not receiving the monthly fee they wanted, but charging the card without permission is unacceptable.
Although receiving a low rating is difficult, we do appreciate your feedback. In spring 2022, we did inform you via email in advance that all "free" additional overage traffic would need to be removed from your account and that you would be moved to an appropriate plan to prevent any additional traffic fees. We apologize if you missed this email and continued on a higher-tier plan for several months. If we had the opportunity to address this issue earlier, we would have been happy to resolve it. However, since a significant amount of time has elapsed, we regret that we are unable to provide a refund for the months you have spent on the platform. LeadDyno customer support makes using the platform very complicated. We regularly have to double check all information they give in their replies and often even after confirming with them on settings, it is incorrect. I have found they are not likely to take accountability for mistakes they make and instead blame you for "your confusion". Very disappointing. I would not use this system unless you are looking for the most basic of affiliate systems and are willing to audit payments regularly to make sure they are paying out correct commissions.

If you're using multiple methods of driving traffic to your site, DO NOT use this app. We've increased our add spend & SEO efforts and Lead Dyno wants to charge me more for these efforts. They charge based on overall traffic, which is unethical in my opinion.

Don't know how you guys are leaving this a 5 star review. Legit you are paying them free money when generating traffic from other sources. Our primary source of traffic is facebook and youtube ads and these guys keep asking us to upgrade to their higher paid plans (basically taking credit for the traffic). We only generated 20 visitors maybe? From affiliates, which isn't a big deal however asking us to continuously upgrade is ridiculous. IF you want a program to give free money to this is perfect for you. However if you are smart stay far away from this ridiculous app.

I wanted to like this app and service however due to their billing methods it doesn't work at all for our needs. If you get any traffic to website outside of LeadDyno, they will charge you for that traffic even though they have the data to charge you only for traffic generated through their system. This means some very basic SEO practices can put your traffic into their highest and most expensive tier while only having a small fraction of that traffic being generated by LeadDyno themselves.
We are sorry to hear you were unhappy with our pricing model. There are several affiliate apps, and they each have different billing models. If you check our Shopify app listing, we list our billing plans, along with the traffic limits for each plan. This has been our pricing model since we started on the Shopify platform in 2014. Part of why we charge for all traffic is because our platform goes beyond just affiliate tracking. LeadDyno tracks visitors, leads, sales, and social shares from many channels. We do this to implement features like "First Source Wins," where we know if a user has visited your site before clicking an affiliate link. Our customer success team is available for a 1-on-1 call to help you take advantage of some of these other tracking capabilities outside just affiliate traffic. It has a fairly easy one click install on shopify, but unless you have only one product on your entire store, this is not for you. Does it create an affiliate dashboard, yes. But if you actually want your affiliates to have a good user experience (setting up their affiliate links for the products they like on your shop), the user experience is horrible. You have to activate SubID and then you have to send the link to the SubID page where your affiliates then create their links. It's not even linked to from the main dashboard. ? It's already hard enough to get affiliates who have a big reach to work with you, let alone trying to get them to remember to go to the SubID page to set up their links. Not a very sustainable solution. Support did exist, but emails took around 3 days to respond. Not angry, just being honest as a real business owner. Improve your user experience and maybe we'll come back. :)
Hi there! I'm sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy our service! LeadDyno tries to keep the affiliate/influencer experience simple and straight to the point. We, therefore, shy away from the advanced features you've mentioned. There are other affiliate management platforms better suited for such complex setups (a lot more expensive). I have been attempting to fix my issue for TWO WEEKS. Had a appointment call with ADAM and he NEVER called me at my schedule time. They just keep opening tickets but don't fix the issue.

I Would be careful using this system. In an attempt to install this plugin for a client it accidentally connected the new client to a different client account. So when the client tried to access Leaddyno from their shopify account they got access to the other clients data (Data leakage). One issue is that this happened at all, as this should not ever be possible. One other thing is that I tried to have them resolve this issue for over a week, no solution at all. At least they should have closed the leaking account until the issue was resolved. So basically my other client have been able to access the leaddyno dashboard of another client for over a week, and still do. Only luck the client the data is leaking from is my own company with an inactive affiliate setup. Unless this would have been a major disaster. This is so bad that I am considering reporting to the government as these clients are based in EU, and this is a serious issue in regards to GDPR. The integrity of your data in this application is in no way taken well care of, and by using this application you are risking the privacy of your clients data. The lack of response on an issue of this magnitude is nothing less then alarming. And it shows that this company does not take privacy and GDPR seriously, which if this happens for your client you will be in big trouble. I would absolutely stay away from this system! I will send a notice to Shopify as well.
Hi there! Clearly, you set up Shopify stores for multiple clients and as a result, you end up merging the accounts in LeadDyno. This happens when you use the same email address to log in to multiple Shopify accounts. I strongly suggest that you use a unique email address when setting up each client's Shopify store as you are risking the privacy of your clients this way. LeadDyno is GDPR compliant. Very poor customer support. Days to receive a response from the team. We are moving on to another platform which is far less expensive and works much better (there are quite a few in the app store). LeadDyno charges on website views not active affiliates. EDIT: I have emailed [email protected] about pricing issues and never got a reply. I raised a ticket with customer support (tickets 43150, 43067). I removed my comment about taking commission from each sale. Still waiting on customer service replies.
Sorry to read of your frustrations. I see your ticket from yesterday. We'll get that handled for you. Please note that our turnaround time is 24-48 hours depending on the issue. We have custom pricing models available. Pricing by traffic works out cheaper in the long term.

We signed up for the Free Trial and Customer Support - aside from some seemingly automated follow-up emails - has been poor. In fact, responding to the emails has not been possible because the links in those emails have not worked. Online chat has crashed and no follow-up was made regarding this. Calls to Telephone support (4 days ago) have gone to VoiceMail and a Call Back has not been received. An email was sent up for Booking a Phone Call. The links in the email did not work. An email was sent (3 days ago now) explaining this and there has been no response yet .

DO NOT USE LEADDYNO. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER IT. For 2 months now we have been trying to get this system working. I spent a huge amount of time initially getting it set up correctly, creating all the content and the terms of conditions, instructions for affiliates etc. I correctly set up all of our affiliates. We created blog content, banners, ads, tiles, facebook and social posts you name it. We had our affiliates build their websites using their affiliate links. Great everything set up and when we pushed live NOTHING. The system could not get any data whatsoever. It was like it just couldn't talk to Shopify at all. There began 6 weeks of going round and round the houses with the abysmal Leaddyno support. They present themselves as a global company - what a joke. I'm based in Australia and the only time they make themselves available is between midnight and 5am - not really practical for a single mother! The Live Chat on their so called support is utterly useless, they have no power to do anything, cannot help you in any way not even with the most basic questions, all they can do is log a support ticket for you. So all we had was the ability to send an email and wait till they graciously get back to us. When they do finally get back to you days later they don't actually help you at all, they ask you questions like "sorry what account are you" even when you've given them your emails, your links, your exact details. Then you have to wait again for them to even consider your question. Eventually they told me that I had to wait for their shopify technician to come back from holidays. When that finally happened they told me we had to reinstall everything. We tried that multiple times didn't work. Finally after leaving it for a week we did another reinstall and finally leaddyno started to get data from shopify. Yay, we thought we are getting somewhere - ONLY TO FIND NONE OF THE AFFILIATE LINKS WERE WORKING. We went back to support yet again - by now about the 15th time, explained everything again and guess what we got "sorry what account are you" despite having fully given them all the details. We thought we will try one last time and the response we got last night - "the link is the wrong domain". Literally that is all the email says, no explanation of what they mean by that. The link contains our exact correct domain so we have absolutely no idea what they are on about. Finally after 8 weeks and SO MUCH TIME AND EFFORT we are uninstalling and it literally brings me to tears the amount of time and energy we have put into this worthless app. JUST DON'T GO NEAR THEM THEY ARE UTTERLY USELESS.

I also mentioned numerous times that we have 24/7 availability for calls. We have plenty of customers in Australia and setting up a call has never been an issue. Ask them for one simple task - Import the CSV file with our affiliates information in it and that took more than 2 months and still not resolved. Simply asked them to Mass Email our affiliates their dashboard link. Charged for 2 months of usage for more than $29 since we have more than 1000 visit a month. Not worth it, we uninstalled. do not recommend

Where do I begin. Unfortunately this is the only app that we have used via our Shopify website that we are extremely displeased with. Customer service is extremely lacking and we have not once received a return response to our emails or customer service issues with each time the customer service rep continuously stating that she would place our ticket in 'urgent' status. We were contacted by our affiliate who brought over 9000 visitors in a matter of a week and noticed that her commissions were extremely inaccurate, which we agreed. So, with all of the orders that we must process this week alone, we now have to configure, manually, how much her commissions should accurately be. When I reached out to Adam, I'm assuming the creator, he misspelled my name, which is something I make sure to never do when speaking with a customer, but then our customer service record speaks for itself with over 1100 (5 star reviews) unsolicited. Some tips that may help. Hire someone to create professional how to videos. Train customer service staff to be able to answer the most basic concerns such as commissions, email requests and the likes, answer emails in a timely manner, when responding with a basic response email that perhaps has been copied and pasted, spell the customer's name accurately. I will also notify Shopify of our extreme disappointment with this app which they take into consideration especially with our company being in their top 5% of sales. We installed this app perhaps a week ago and it has been the absolute worse of any Shopify App that we have installed. It was a complete waste of our time as well as an inconvenience to our affiliate and our staff who has to configure the commissions manually now. Unfortunately, this app receives 1 star from us.

I was waiting for a response from someone on customer support for a week. I could not use the App this whole time. The only response I got was "what is your website address?" And that info was in the subject line of the email... but even after writing the address again, they did not respond. A week for that? I can't imagine how long it will take to get an answer to bigger issues

Seemed to work well at first, but have had consistent issues with it. Not applying commissions, not linking properly etc. My affiliates have been missing out on what they have earned. We keep having to manually go in an audit our orders which is incredibly time-consuming, not to mention it doesn't help to identify if the customer used the affiliate link, so no way of knowing and giving the credit. Will be looking for another program asap.

This is by far the worse Affiliate company, I wasted 3 weeks with them. Their phone number is turned off and not working. This is a big scam, do not get tricked into getting this as it looks preety good and once you start using they are so many bugs and things wrong with it. If you try to call them you will never get a live person to help you before their phone was working. DO NOT GET FOOLED BY THIS COMPANY
