It was fabulous during the FREE trial. Everything worked. Then everything stop working. I'm not even close to the end of FREE trial. Then I get an alert that I need to go to the paid program because I'm at over 2500 views? Not sure where they get this data from. I started this online boutique on Jan 22 and as of today I only have 255 page views? I wish I was in the 2000 views. Seems very shady to me! When my campaigns stopped working I ran the A/P test and now it seems how to push my views only on there end to the 2500 but everywhere else it states different? Google Analytics, Shopify Analytics. So privy not happy with the force of making people pay for a service that is not even working properly for the past few days. My RANK is a 0

$75/mo even your monthly traffic went down less than that, still keep charging you $75/mo, we have been over charged about $1000 now, dishonesty company, not recommended. No response, only after I cancel it then reach out to us, enough said. Does not have good exit intent popup.
Thanks for the review! Let us know if we can be of any help at [email protected].
PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING PRIVY I would love to give this app a higher rating. The app itself works well. So kudos to the developers. It has done what I wanted. My issue is CUSTOMER SERVICE. I run 4 shopify stores, 3 of which were using Privy. On BLACK FRIDAY, 2 out of our 3 stores were shut down WITHOUT NOTIFICATION. We only received a message saying "You've hit your monthly traffic limit. We're reaching out to let you know you've reached your 5,000 pageview limit for this month.* This means that all of your campaigns have been paused, and are no longer collecting email addresses or driving sales for your online store. Your pageview counter will reset at the beginning of the next calendar month. To ensure your campaigns stay active going forward, click this link to upgrade your account." This was the only email from them which went into my "other" or unfocused email. No warning beforehand. I received an email from them on November 23, 2019 that tells me my campaign results which states only 2 signups, no redemptions. No mention that I was anywhere close to the 5000 page threshold. (Here is another opportunity for Privy to let customers know that they are approaching their limits.) Please let me state that I don't have an issue paying for a product that works. My issues are that when I questioned the calculations on a brand new store, they dismissed me and gave me only a pat answer that we calculate differently. This answer was given to me 3 times each time I reached out. I asked for someone to contact me to discuss what had happened and I heard from no one. I also take issue with that fact that we were shut down without notification on one of the busiest sales days of the year. Here is what Privy told us we had: Store 1 (which has 200-300 visitors per day) - 5300 page views Store 2 (0-15 visitors per day) - 5200 page views Please note that this is buried under the setting tab. Store 2 campaign window (by Privy) 439 views on the ONLY campaign running. Not sure how that extrapolates to 5200 page views. Google analytics said store 2 only had 1800 page views for the entire month. (not unique page views) so that is a 300% markup. Privy was not running for that entire month on Store 2. I can understand differences from Google analytics but not that substantial. Google analytics also is not using their numbers to get payment from me. I have made some suggestions to hopefully help other people that I hope that Privy takes into account: • I would suggest that you provide a meter on the front page (not buried under settings) that tell people how many page views that they have had. Show a progress bar to let them know if they are getting close. That way when they are going in to set up or adjust campaigns they will see it. • I would also suggest from a customer service perspective, send out warning emails at perhaps an 80% threshold to customers when they are getting close so that they don’t get shut down during a major sales day. • Alternatively or preferably in addition to the above email, have a pop up on Shopify that warns people. (Your shut down email went into my “unfocused” and on a busy day operating a store, that message would possibly go unnoticed. ) I would also ask that on the busiest sales day of the year that you NOT shut down customers without warning. We didn't notice right away and we were spending a significant amount of money on Facebook, Instagram and Google advertising in order to get sales and to build our email lists. Our advertisements said, "sign up to get a discount" We lost sales because the signup option was not there for them. This was not a good experience for us and we are actively looking for another app that will replace this. I will reiterate that the app itself works well. I will also reiterate that I don't mind and do pay for apps to help build our stores. It is the CUSTOMER SERVICE that was the issue. I am writing this review so that others will not get caught the way that we did and lose sales because Privy "pauses" your campaigns on your busiest sales day and holds you hostage until you pay. And when questioned on their analytics, they did not answer in any way that would make sense for Store 2. Please be aware of this before using.
Hello Elizabeth, Thank you for taking the time and effort to give us your feedback. We empathize with your situation, and we truly appreciate your suggestions for improved notifications such as an in-dashboard a progress bar and an 80% threshold email. We do send email notifications to account owners who need to purchase or increase their plan seven days ahead of time, and then every week until an action is taken. We never want to provide our customers with false or misleading information, and it is certainly not our intention to limit our merchants on their busiest day of the year. We are sorry you did not receive the best possible customer experience. Our responses to you could have been more clear, and we apologize that they were not. If it would be at all helpful, we’d love the opportunity to walk through the metrics for all three stores with you, particularly the second store you referenced. Our manager of Support will reach out to you directly, so please keep your eye out for an email from us. Again, we appreciate your feedback and your perspective, and thank you again for taking the time to reach out. We will use this opportunity to provide internal feedback based on your suggestions. The Privy Team.
Je m'attendais a mieux. J'essaye encore de comprendre certaine chose. Exemple mail client envoyer a 8h toujours aucun mail livré. ATTENTION! J'ai supprimé l'application depuis plusieurs mois. Mais je m'apperçois que privy me débit 10€ par mois. Pour une application que je n'utilise pas et une option que je n'ai jamais utiliser (panier abandonné).
Thanks for the feedback and sorry about the issues you are experiencing. Please send us an email at [email protected] and the team will give you a hand when they are back online.
We have not been able to get in contact with support for over 4 weeks. We have sent over 8 emails. They have reached out themselves to possibly take over our email marketing and not just the current pop up plan. But there has been no response. It is highly disappointing to pay so much and not receive any support!
Thanks for the feedback and I'm so sorry about the issues you are experiencing. I forwarded this issue to the support team and they should be in touch.
Buyer Beware, Privy is a very hokey email platform. #1. Privy will not clean your list or remove bounces or unsubscribes . #2. They won't tell you any of the names that bounce, you have to manually copy each bounce you get from the IPS and remove each nam manually . #3 Our emails literally showed up in our customer's inbox in GREEK because their system fonts are not universally accepted. To top it off extremely poor tech support. These guys are not ready for prime time by any stretch of the imagination.
I just start so i dont know if the result will be good. I'm looking for the spin to win on privy. I can't find it
We are a new company doing all that we can, including spending tens of thousands of dollars at exhibitions trying to develop our mailing list only for privy to tell us that we cant upload and use most of our list because they are "role" emails. Tried to explain that business owners (who is my target audience) always give out their business email. . . . PRIVY: no response
way to expensive and algorithm is flawed. with shopify not counting pageviews I have 0 way of knowing how accurate your algorithm is that you use and have to trust you blindly. Not a smart business practice. With not even 4k visitors for this month you claim I have to be on the 50k page view plan I find it impossible to believe I reach 50k pageviews. Not to mention you cant honestly say if your algorithm counts you yourself viewing your own page thus penalizing you and using your algorithm means it counts viewers who may just enjoy looking at your products and never intending to buy thus penalizing you again . A very flawed system with so many competitor apps out there charging far less and working just as well and better. Customer service couldn't provide proof of pageviews when I brought up this concern and just linked articles about how they count it which doesnt help prove that you're an honest company. They did offer a 30% discount for 3 months which still makes the app too expensive for the traffic I truly get and number of sales I get. I will be contacting shopify to see if they can provide any proof of pageviews to compare it to your data you claim to have.
I started using Privy at around the point they changed their pricing scheme, so I was able to view their previous pricing model and the newest model. I think their core service of popups is pretty good. But I was disappointed to find that 2 completely separate stores I run, that are not related to each other, were merged together for the monthly views. So I am at the point where the Privy app is disabled on both stores unless I pay their fees. So if one store has lots of views, but another doesn't have much at all, both stores Privy popups won't work. I have already done a live call with one of their staff where they hoped to show me the additional value Privy offers if I were to use their subscription service. But I do not think that minor features like more audience targeting is what I need. And I don't think it's worth paying $20-40+ monthly subscriptions for. Will be looking for other popup services in the meantime and transitioning away from Privy. I'd come back if they changed their pricing model back to what it was before.
Thank you for the feedback, and I'm sorry you were disappointed by our recent price change. We believe our new pricing puts us more in line with the needs of the market and the majority of our customers who are getting more features for a better value. If you're an existing customer and your price was negatively impacted by this change, we'd be happy to work with you! Just shoot us an email at [email protected] and we'll put you in touch with the right people.
I was looking for an alternative to Mailchimp for sending mass newsletters. And I spent two days trying to send the first campaign with Privy Newsletters. A total nightmare! 1- Unable to upload photos to its newsletters template, the workaround would be copy&paste the link of the photo to it; 2- Test email won't work; 3- When sending emails got this error massage "Segment cannot be empty. Please adjust your filters." even when using send to All Contacts... I haven't tried others functions yet but this buggy app I have no confidence at all!
cant review haven't used it yet. grehtrhrhjnyjntjuykyukhtrwhtrjytwjnytjytjytejmytejmytekjytekytekytek

11/11/19 Updated: Cancelled today...they still have not fixed the de-duplication issue. Began using Klaviyo...way more full featured and cheaper too! Bye, Privy! ***** 10/10/19 Reply to Developer Comment: I would have left this alone but it is not cool to publicly tell a complete lie and say you don't have to MANUALLY de-duplicate your list...you absolutely do. As of today (Oct. 10 2019) this is what your Support team (Andy) had to say about the fact that your system doesn't automatically deduplicate emails that have different casing ([email protected] vs. [email protected])... "I checked internally and we are actively working on this now. The only update I can provide is: We're in a difficult situation where we need to determine how to make this change for all existing contacts across all business accounts. if there are duplicates how to fix them. - What if one of them is unsubscribed and the other is mailable? - How will this handle GDPR compliance in the context of duplicate customers for different businesses, or archived businesses? - Do we default to unsubscribing these? There's a lot of complications that play into this issue, im happy to provide you with an update when this have some movement on it" But don't take my word for it...before you use this product test if it allows emails with different casing to be created. You will see that Privy is not ready for prime time when it comes to email marketing. **** Original Review: It's really too bad that I can't give the a higher rating as I'd love to. I really like the app and the customer service and easy integration. BUT...they have one giant Achilles Heel. Their system allows for the same email address with different title cases to create duplicate records (e.g., [email protected] and [email protected] will create SEPARATE contacts) so you end up sending multiples to people all the time. You have to deduplicate your lists MANUALLY! The worst part is that they have known about this issue for months and have still not fixed it. De-duplication is the most fundamental feature of any email marketing program...it's staggering to me that they have let this go on for so long with no fix and have not even communicated the issue to their customers. Ask them about it before you sign up!
Thanks for the feedback and sorry about the issues you're experiencing. You shouldn't have to de-duplicate your list manually. We do have this capability in the product. Do you mind emailing us at [email protected] so we can look into this for you?
Terrible at creating emails. Doesn't send to all contacts. Support is very slow. NOT an alternative to Mailchimp. Really only good to get newsletter signups not to mail anything to anyone. Also, they don't want to let me submit this bad review which may be why they have a 4.7 star rating.
Thanks for the feedback and sorry about the issues you are experiencing. I forwarded this issue to the support team and they should be in touch.
too early to give a review on this app. very premature and inappropriate to do so. literally have nothing to say about it

This product is complete garbage especially when one takes price into consideration. I mainly was looking for a product to send out newsletters and privy is near useless if that is what you are looking for. You can't manually add emails to your email list. You can't separate your clients into separate mailing lists, there is no way of resizing or adjusting images in your emails. Add to that I've currently been waiting 2 1/2 hours for my last marketing email to send and that customer service didn't seem too bothered by that and you have a pretty nice idea of what using privy is like. I can't believe they are attempting to charge for a product which is not yet fully developed.
Thanks for the feedback and sorry about the issues you are experiencing. I forwarded this issue to the support team and they should be in touch.
They charge by page view, so if you have a large office like ours and each employee visiting our site multiple times a day that adds up fast. If each of our employees visit our site twice a day (which is low) 25% of the monthly pageviews we're paying for would be our own employees. It would be a simple fix to exclude an IP address from pageviews.

The new pricing of this App is ridiculous considering I don't use it for email campaigns. Going from a FREE app to being $70 a month based on PAGE VIEWS alone?! Ridiculous. Uninstalling and finding a different App. Now they'll get new customers who will pay the outlandish fees because of the high ratings from customers who used the App when it was free. Really poor, extortionist practices. I am so unimpressed. I was willing to go to a paid plan, thinking it would be 5, maybe 10 dollars a month. Nope. Absolutely not worth the 70-200% markup they're now charging customers.
I have been using this app for over a year with just the basic features and only 1 campaign. Because my overall website has a lot of page views they want to bill me $140 a month.
